roman empire this, ww1/2 that, etc,etc.... I want to know tumblr's the very specific historical niches that have the people of tumblr gripped. Mine is the House Bagrationi of Georgia, one of the oldest Christian ruling dynasties in the world. They no longer rule Georgia but are recognised as the royal family of Georgia in Georgia. From the Middle Ages to the 19th Century, they were in charge. They faced threats from the Mongols, the Muslims and the Russians who all, at points of history wanted to control the region. Many of the members of House Bagrationi were exiled and ended up in Russia, joining noble houses through marriages and becoming integrated and connected to even the Romanoffs. I just think they're neat.
