For Neo-Twiny Jam 2026, I decided on making a small trilogy of visual novels about perspectives on a person at different parts of life. Each of the games in the POV Trilogy are 500 words each and do not need to be played in a specific order.
"A long time ago, I fell in love with a girl: you. I fell so hard for you that I still think about you years after anybody last saw you."
Preserved is a 500 word reflection made in Decker.
"I hate looking at you. I hate knowing you exist."
Obstinate is a 500 word anger made in Godot using Dialogic 2.
"It doesn't take me long to find him. It was, after all, the place I kept finding him at even before we started dating."
Verity is a 500 word ending made in Light.vn (Windows) and Ren'Py (Linux and Mac).
The trilogy became an excuse for me to explore other visual novel engines, and I'll detail my notes and ups and downs with each one I used in a postmortem I'll post eventually~ I wish I had a bit more free time to iron out the quirks and ui details but that will have to come later.
Special thanks to all my beta readers and testers who helped me figure out what direction I wanted to go in! Thank y'all so much, seriously. And to some of you who had to watch me go through exporting hell, I'm so sorry lmao
