Lightsnap! I think "light" is a perfect parallel to "blight", and snap connects to a purple snapdragon! I think that's a fitting plant for Amity, and thus, we have Lightsnap! "Light" was also the first spell Luz learned.
So, I doubt that Light was her original prefix, and I think I'll use "Blight" as her first prefix. Yeah, Blightpaw.
I think Lightsnap comes from a long line of respected cats, but as there isn't exactly technology in this world, there needs to be another way....oh. Oh yes. Animation. I bet the WC Blights are skilled in animating objects, bringing them to life.
I think that Whistleheart, when she first met Lightsnap, was a shock to her. This cat from the other world who worked with an outlaw, was kind and friendly, and was trying to learn magic? It may have even scared her a little, but Lightsnap never liked being scared, so she defaulted to being aggressive.
But Whistleheart just looked at her and saw a lonely cat, and with bad parents too. (I bet that WC Camila was a psychiatrist, or physical therapist! In canon she's a veterinarian, but that doesn't entirely work if she's a cat, and Luz inherited some of her talent in the field.)
The turning point in their relationship was when Lightsnap chose her own prefix. Her mother was....not happy, and Whistleheart was one of the first that Lightsnap told about her new name. Whistleheart immediately was like "That's awesome! Hi Lightpaw, how're you doing?"
