and another where he went mad with grief after someone he knew was killed, and it’s a whole angst au where he’s literally just in a large mansion in the lavender beds

this one has two iterations too:

one where he does his duty that emet would’ve done (as, in the comic, emet died during the final days). he’s not tempered, he’s purely doing this of his own free will because the image of emet’s death is seared into his memory.
