I suppose the opening of this novel reflects how many feel about 2020; we’ve come “a fur piece.” Who all has read this? This is my favorite Faulkner novel, and though it is missing the classic dust jacket I am still glad to have a first of this giant. I think it is one of his most approachable pieces, and the battle with puritanism always rings as a true depiction of many small towns in the south. Keep a watch out in the coming days for that “peculiar quality of light in August.” It’s got the gold star.. First printing, first edition, Very good with a couple slight bumps. . . . . . . . #williamfaulkner #lightinaugust #firstedition #rarebook #rarebooks #mississippi #southernlit #faulkner #bookhunting #bookstagram #bookcollecting #bookcollector #americanliterature https://www.instagram.com/p/CD1PCwTJZjv/?igshid=1wdi7kbs3tf1k
