Regular lit-room demo
From top to bottom: Assembly is simple, the bottom of the lamp is design to fit into the stalk of the light bulb
Premise: Design a lamp that consists of two cylinders that interlock, but the inner one can rotate freely. Using vertical slits, the inner cylinder can be rotated to block the gaps on the outer, dimming the light.
Initial design: The first design, which can be seen in earlier posts, was very bulky and the openings did not align correctly. This design improves upon the flaws, with a slim design and 4 slits that only require 45 degrees of rotation. The result is a much simpler, cleaner design
Notable features: Friction fit assembly and free rotation by turning slots at the top

Cardboard lantern with varying modes
The knob at the top can be used to rotate an inner cylinder
Overview:
Pros: Functional design: can spread the light or direct it at a narrow spot
Cons:
Lack of precision, function does not translate very well with cardboard.
Issue with light gap alignment, light doesn’t actually dim out, inner layer is too far from the outer layer
Plans:
Laser-cutting and overhaul
Lantern Configuration 2 - Top handle
Handheld lantern - adjustable
Inner ring can be rotated to lower or increase brightness
Can be held from the top handle, or the light bulb stalk
