Who/What inspires moi?! - 30 August
So it's my day off work and I thought I'd write a blog post on 'Inspiration'! Who/What inspires me and my works?
I'd like to start off by talking about some people who inspire me.
Walt Disney is a massive inspiration of mine and although my current work isn't particularly inspired by any of the Disney movies, I intend and hope to collage some of my favourite films one day. Other than the films, I just really like the way he worked and his thoughts on the world.
Another, is the infamous Steve Jobs. Likewise to Walt Disney, I love and admire his outlook on life. He is an inspiration to the world and I throughly enjoy you-tube-ing him as he is so interesting! Anything he says... is like wow, I wish I had thought of that!
The third person I am going to mention is Dallas Green (City and Colour). He is my ultimate favourite singer-song-writer and I intend to produce a project inspired by his songs! Soooon. I'm forever doodling/collaging away whilst listening to him, so, I am rather annoyed that I haven't got round to making a project for him, as of yet! Also, guess what?! I am seeing him for the third time (not including seeing Alexisonfire - his old band!) next year in January! Super excited!!! Other people who I admire are, Judy Garland, Edwin Land, Marilyn Monroe, Gemma Correll, Tim Walker, Rob Ryan and Josh Pyke. They are all worth a shout-out. And, I'm sure many more will come to me at a later date.
Besides from inspirational people, I tend to gather inspiration from nature, vintage markets, kitschy things, my thoughts, quotes, films, musical references and the1950's... The list is endless.
Having said all of the above, in the next upcoming months, I would like to focus upon some new-exciting self-initiated projects inspired by what has been mentioned above. As well as this I intend to do a few competitions on my day's off. And lastly, I am also focusing the majority of my efforts on expanding and developing my career! Phew.
