Even though people think sensitive (and he is), Will very rarely talks about his feelings or even shows how he feels. For the majority of the time, he keeps it to himself.

When he is upset (angry/sad/worried etc), he doesn’t even do anything different than usual. What changes is the way & degree he does it. For example, Will loves to draw and it’s something he does almost every day, whether it is a full drawing or just doodles. But when he is sad/upset, he prefers using black pencils/charcoal instead of anything with colour. Additionally, Will is highly introverted, he doesn’t like being the centre of attention, so if he doesn’t know the other person/your muse, well, he is going to very quiet, reserved and seem shy. But again, when he is upset, he is more quiet than usual. He doesn’t talk other than when it is necessary and even then, he might not answer a question, especially if the answer is obvious, even with the people close to him. He doesn’t seem to get excited by things he usually does either (like hanging out with his friends, playing games).

A big part of that, I think, has to do with his father. He couldn’t be “more of a man” (something I imagine Lonnie told the kid from very early on), but he could just be quiet and not show he’s hurt (something he did without realising it, I think), so Lonnie wouldn’t really pay much attention to him. People that don’t know him well, probably can’t tell the difference, but his family and close friends probably can tell when something is off (he also doesn’t make a lot of eye contact either, and focuses on his drawing even when someone talks to him, something that I can’t imagine went well with his father, but yeah). Although, even when they talk to him, he’s not going to open up right away or maybe at all, it depends on the situation and the person (Jonathan & and especially Mike are the ones he usually does talk to, but again, don’t expect him to say more than a couple of sentences about it).

❝Um...maybe.❞ Renly clasps his hands before him, swinging slightly in a manner that deemed to be adorable. ❝But I am not tired! And...And Robert usually lets me stay up late!❞ Which is not a lie, not really. Robert doesn’t really seem to care what Renly does, so technically he does not let him stay up late, it is just that the boy’s sleeping schedule does not make a big difference to him  ❝Why are you awake?❞

[Even though Renly’s family was not there for the longest part of his life, he still saw Storm’s End as his home. Even though he loved the beauty of the flowers of Highgarden has to offer, listening to the waves at night, the smell of the sea from his own room is what feels like home to him. He loves the castle he lives in, he knows these walls well, he knows all the rooms, all the secret passages. He loves the way he has decorated it  — how one can walk into the castle, and especially his chambers and see Renly everywhere. In the beautiful fabrics of the curtains and the sheets, the dried colourful flowers that decorate the room, the small pieces of wood, dried spices or fruits that give the room a unique smell, in the drawings he has put on the walls, on his house sigil engraved in the walls, in the fabrics. Storm’s End has also two beaches. One that is accessible to anyone, that Renly often goes with friends or on his own to swim. There is another one, accessed only by a secret passage only he knows. He likes it the best. This place also holds memories, some of which he does not want to have. He remembers his parents, only that is most likely a fragment of his imagination. He remembers running to Robert’s arms after he had been away for a long time. He remembers being with Stannis, the only family he really remembers. He remembers the siege, how this place seemed like it would seal his fate, along with every friend he had lost. But these memories have shaped him to the person he is today, and part of him does not want to forget that.

The King in the North. That’s what they call him and Renly almost feels a child-like jealousy. ‘No, I am the King!’ But he knows he should try sharing his toys and not decide to refuse to make an alliance with that king before he even properly met him. So when he hears about Robb Stark approaching the camp, Renly accepts to see him gladly. Who knows? Perhaps this will be beneficial for him too. Perhaps he and Robb could be friends, one day. Why not?

Will glances around for a moment, as if he expects to see his brother, but he finds himself smiling anyway, feeling slightly embarrassed like he does when his mom compliments him in front of others ❝ I did’t do anything much. Perhaps he can use this to his advantage - a clean slate. To see if he can persuade someone to see things his way without them thinking of the destruction his actions have taken in the past.
