His scoff is light enough to be inaudible and he quickly busies himself with organising his comic books. You think? They had not spent any time alone since that night, Will had even refused to look at Mike properly. It is strange, because ever since Will can remember, they were close. But...Mike had fucked up. Hearing him saying so should be enough and yet... it isn’t.
Will hadn’t looked at him ever since that night and he doesn’t look at him now either ❝ What do does that mean? ❞ he asks because he isn’t even sure that Mike realises what he is done. Or at least, if he realises the full extent of it. Even then, when Will had been hurt, when he had destroyed his castle in frustration, he knew that Mike didn’t really mean to use that against him. Yet his attention remained on El. That wasn’t a fuck-up. That is how things are going to be like from now on and Will should stop being a stupid kid and accept this.
Before the other can say anything, Will sighs and glances at Mike briefly ❝ It doesn’t matter. ❞ he mutters, even though it definitely matters.
