I've been re-editing the first few chapters of An Enduring Affection and it made me sentimental. Emmlich is so soft with Evie. And she's so vulnerable with him. Nothing in between their hearts but love and being madly in love with one another. I feel like...we don't see enough of that dynamic of devotion between characters in modern media.

I'll say it. I love writing Evie and Emmlich together.

God, something about Emmlich craftily scheming to horde Evie like a dragon hiding his treasure does something for me. He's just so sneaky about it. If I wrote it any other way than I do, it would not be a love story.

I need Emmlich to put Evie in her place like I need water. He's become the brat-tamer I have unintentionally crafted him into. He knows that she is a bad luck magnet, but he just...doesn't care!

He knows her heart is as big as a house and she has a smart-ass mouth that gets her into heaps of trouble...but only makes the prim and proper undead Lich Lord want her more.

His transformation only intensified his feelings for her from a stout, blazing affection into an bonfire-y obsession.

Like even when he pulls the, 'Evelyn, I said No' card...

And she just ignores it by *insert impulsively rash and well-meaning action that predictably goes to hell in a hand basket.*

He has no choice but to put his foot down and...

Who could have seen this coming? It's not like it happens everytime I have a break.

Anyway, might end up dropping like 3 chapters of my Memory Loss AU fic when Mr. StarfleetTeddybear is available to help me edit. Looking forward to getting to the smut soon. What I got outlined is looking pretty hot.
