(Re: this post)
@librarychair - Thanks! And (extremely fair) point definitely made.
After the latest treatment delay, actually earlier today I went ahead and contacted PALS for the hospital in question, asking for help with getting that rescheduled ASAP.
(Along with the prerequisite COVID tests for both Mr. C as "carer" to also be allowed inside the hospital, and of course me! Considering that was the holdup last time.)
Emphasizing that this IS a truly urgent procedure, that I have not been able to eat for months while already diagnosed with malnutrition, that I am increasingly unable to swallow at all while T1 diabetic and therefore liable to dangerous hypoglycemic episodes, and so forth.
No idea how much good that might do, especially during Plague Madness Overload--but, it couldn't hurt. PALS at our usual local hospital has certainly been helpful with trying to get some things sorted out before, including my COVID swab before the last gastroscopy.
They apparently aren't open to take calls over the weekend, so I don't guess anyone will see that e-mail until Monday at earliest. But, I thought it was best to go ahead and try while I was thinking about it, and do SOMETHING.
Not even sure who to contact directly in gastroenterology, or how. (After trying to look into it.) Or who else might be helpful to try to nudge.
But, hopefully PALS will actually do something useful!
That's the best I know to do for now. If it doesn't get me some type of reasonable response soon, I'll have to come up with some other angle of attack.
Thanks for the validation that I really do have good reason for concern, btw! That is honestly so welcome, when in person it doesn't seem like anyone outside this house gives a damn.

Why are your chickens named princesses?
Excellent question! They’re all named after characters from Adventure Time! I picked their names out when they were chicks, before I knew whether they’d all be girls or not. A neighbor kid that I babysat a lot came to see the chicks, and asked if I’d change their names if any turned out to be boys. I said no, boys can be princesses too.
And he said, “Just like cookie princess!” (another character in the show who was a boy cookie who dreamt of being a princess). He got really excited about the prospect of boy princesses.
Emma I am glad you will not have a hormonal pattern affected by low sunlight levels because it is Difficult and you are Too Good to have that kind of trouble.
Low sunlight.

Oh my Lord. That is terrible. I personally don't really like the sealant I'm using at the moment, but DuraClear is a MUCH better alternative to Mod Podge, and it doesn't dry sticky! It's very smooth and dries pretty fast, but it does scratch and peel up kind of easily. Definitely meant for things meant to stay on a shelf and not be handled much.

Thanks for the pointers! If I were still wearing the regular compression socks, I would totally pay international shipping to try some from Crazy Compression! Some great patterns available there. I've seen some more stylish ones for sale here, but not nearly as many kinds. I was mostly opting for basic black before.
For some reason, the vascular surgery people didn't want me back in them for the complete leg, though? 🤔 Maybe that was just a temporary thing, because of the heel. I was wearing them on my own before, because circulation problems besides their helping with the possibly-POTS.
Unfortunately, what I actually need now is the specific "stump shrinker" kind, like these. I think that's the major brand readily available in the UK, tbh. May have to go ahead and measure myself (according to manufacturer instructions) and try some on my own. If nothing else, they are indeed supposed to help with pain. Still puzzled as to why I wasn't already given some, and so were the Limb Centre people when they asked about it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Unfortunately, from what other people have said? Any kind of NHS-funded compression stockings you get are likely to be the ugly medical-looking beige/brown. 🙄 (And not as many of them as you really need.) So yeah, I fully anticipate needing to buy plenty of them out of pocket in the somewhat near future! Possibly both types.
