Hold onto your library stuff a while longer!
All Lake County Public Library locations will be closed starting today (3/16/20) at 5 PM until further notice.
We have not made this decision lightly. We know from watching other states and countries that the most effective way to slow the transmission of COVID-19 is aggressive social distancing. By removing spaces where people gather, we can contribute to the overall safety of Lake County.
Your materials will not be due while we are closed! Due dates for everything (yes, EVERYTHING) have been changed to April 15. If you had holds waiting on the shelf, they will still be ready for you when we reopen.
PLEASE DO NOT RETURN YOUR ITEMS. We would much rather you stay home, and we don't want our staff handling items of unknown origin from the book drop. Remember that digital items – ebooks, audiobooks, magazines, etc - are also available for check-out (link in the comments) so you don't have to worry about running out of reading material.
While we are closed we’ll also be taking a tumblr break. Please check www.lcplin.org/covid, our Facebook, or our Twitter for updates about this closure!
We are CLOSED Monday, September 2 for Labor Day. However, with the upcoming Hurricane our hours surrounding it are uncertain. Please follow our Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook for updates.

CLOSED MONDAY, MAY 27
Keep in mind we are CLOSED THIS MONDAY, May 27 in honor of Memorial Day.
Our hearts are with those who have lost loved ones on this difficult weekend. <3

When You Call the Library Only to Find Out They’re Closed for New Years
Hear ye! Hear ye! We are finally entering our final round of renovations! Monday, January 30th, our Hart Memorial branch will CLOSE for their renovations, which are estimated to last approximately 3 months.
During this time some of the regular programs will be rescheduled to other locales (for example, the Tuesday Storytimes will be held at the Kissimmee Civic Center) while other programs will enter a hiatus until the branch is reopened.
And for those of you wondering, our St. Cloud branch is scheduled to (finally) reopen the same day Hart closes. :)
For the most up-to-date information, please visit our Renovations Page on our website. You may also access our Online Calendar to view program scheduling.
We thank all of you for your continued patience during this long process. (It’s almost over, we promise!)
There are no classes Friday-Monday. The Library, like the campus, is closed for the Presidents Weekend break, Friday, Feb 17 - Monday, Feb 20. We will reopen Tuesday morning at 8am.
The online library is (as always) available 24/7: https://Library.SouthernCT.edu
Enjoy your break!
