And honestly I should have because I fucking LOVED that first episode. So much has changed and evolved.

There’s a whole lot being set up in just the first episode.

Vera Bennett is now the Governor. Fergy is now a prisoner sent to Wentworth - because of course,… where else can she be? Where else would we want her to be? You don’t get rid of an antagonist like her. Kaz is the best TV representation of a feminist gone wrong - claiming to be all for women’s rights but can’t accept and respect ALL women. Such as the TERF ideology. Allie Novak is attracted to Bea and according to what I learned attending Wentworth Con, Bea reciprocates. I have no idea when. Like I said. Haven’t seen passed S3.

No Fletcher. Thank fucking god because I can’t stand him. Will Jackson is now the Deputy Governor. A well deserved promotion. The best thing of all this episode…

Franky and Bridget (Fridget) is a thing! They either live together or Franky just has way too many sleepovers. But there’s drama there for them too because they have to hide it and sneak around. Not really doing a good job of it if Franky is always around. Don’t know why Bridget is so surprised that Fergy knows about them dating. I mean… would it kill them to close the fucking blinds?

This episode was awesome! Probably my favourite yet.

So much happened that I absolutely loved! Can’t wait to see the rest of the season. I know it’s going to slay with all that’s been set up for it. Especially for Fridget.

I think that’s why I’m really getting into this pure drama. Because usually I can’t get into them or pure comedies. It’s the female representation and WLW representation.

But I said the same about ‘South Of Nowhere’ (which is a teen drama) and I still fell completely in love with that TV show. Honestly as long as the representation and the development for the female characters is very well-written and portrayed, I feel like I can watch anything and enjoy it just as much as I can with supernatural/fantasy and/or sci-fi TV shows. Yeah, it hasn’t always got the supernatural or fantasy elements that I love to watch in the likes of Xena, Buffy, Charmed or Wynonna Earp but - like I mentioned in a recent post of mine - it doesn’t mean that it cannot be explored in other ways that do fit with its respective Universe and the realism of the themes and tones. After all - part of the reason I love the aforementioned TV shows so much is because they are grounded in reality - just through a metaphor.

I’m going to be more open-minded with what I watch this year because I’m sure I’ll discover more TV gems.

Also - I know it’s got like 11 seasons - but I am going to watch ‘The X Files’ all the way through for the first time this year too. I’ve got quite a bit to get through in 2026.
