Baoshí was a Velcro baby. She would scream anytime she wasn’t in Nezha’s arms.

Nezha loves his children equally. He does. But Li Jing was usually the one to hold Qing, even as a baby. Nezha held his son, but it was difficult being a first time parent. But with Baoshí, he HAD to hold her. And he bonded with her more because of it.

And Nezha and Jing don’t realize it, but kids are more observant then are given credit for. And Qing notices’. He sees how much time Nezha spends with Baoshí (nicknamed ‘Amy’ for the gem she was made) because she screams her head off. He loves grandpa, but he wants his ‘Mama’’s attention. So what does he do? He copies Baoshí.

But Qing is two and a half years old. It doesn’t work the same, and instead it’s chalked up to toddler tantrums. Eventually, Qing gives it up. But now he’s unhappy about being a big brother, because now he has to share.
