Liars on the silver screen: Movie “1/1” scored by the band will premiere in Berlin this summer
Ticket listings for Liars’ movie project with writer and director Jeremy Phillips finally emerged recently.
The movie will have it’s first screening at the Berlin Pop-Kultur Festival on Wednesday, August 31st.
1/1 tells the story about the 20 year old Lissa, who lives in the middle of nowhere in Pennsylvania and is less than thrilled about it. To drown out the monotony, she turns to sex and drugs.
As her father unexpectedly dies, she suddenly realises the desolate state her life is in.
The only way back to love and hope, however, is by reconnecting with her mother.
Before the screening, the band (in this case, with only Aaron Hemphill and Angus Andrew attending) will also be giving insight about the process of creating their work and talk about their current perspectives considering movies and music.
While this is the first time something official has turned up about the project, it’s still uncertain when there will be more screenings.
And if this isn’t enough, Liars are going to perform the soundtrack the day after, on September 1st, at the SchwuZ in Neukölln.
