Scott smirked and looked at Liam. He smacked the beta's ass. "So Liam I hear you got a pretty big cock."
"Why donât you check it out for yourself huh?â Liam turned around laughing at his alpha. âUnless youâre too scared that your beta has a massive cock.â
I make a lot of jokes about liam and scott basically having the relationship encapsulated in bro posts, but the thing is I'm not convinced that neither of them wouldn't end up absolutely embarrassingly in love and doing cheesy romantic shit a la liam's canon romance so what I'm saying is they absolutely 'bro... ur my world' but there's definitely a layer of sincerity about it, and probably before either of them realize the other's as invested in a potential relationship as he is
32 for Scott/Liam
âI think Iâm in love with you, and Iâm terrified.â
Scottâs not sure how it started. He knows it was sometime after the Archonâs flagship, but drinking with Liam wasnât always like this.
At first, itâs little thingsââI stole from Vetraâs stashâ, âI sent around the joke about Tannââbut after the flagship, Scott opens his beer and looks down at the rim of his can and says, âSometimes I wish my father had lived instead.â
Thereâs no response, not verbally. Liam knocks his knee against Scottâs and doesnât say anything.
And thatâs the start.
It only escalates from there. Liam tells him, not long after, when the vidâs over and Scottâs thinking heâs just going to sleep here, curled up at Liamâs feet. Liam exhales, heavy, and says, âI really wish I hadnât come to Andromeda.â
Theyâre not always the soul-baring truths that leave them feeling raw and wounded. Scott tells Liam about Reyes, and for the first time, doesnât feel like an idiot for liking his attention. Thereâs the night Liam tells Scott it wasnât just cultural information he and Jaal shared.
But itâs quiet, and itâs secret, and itâs safeâand Scott doesnât, not once, think that Liamâs going to tell another soul.
Then, after theyâve finished watching a vid from early twenty-second century filled with romantic cliches and terrible overacting, Liam takes a breath and brushes his fingers over the back of Scottâs neck.
âI think Iâm in love with you,â Liam says, and Scott feels his breath catch in his throat. âAnd Iâm terrified.â
Itâs not quite a rule that they donât talk about it, but Scott just nudges his knee against Liamâs, an unspoken encouraging, âitâs fine,â and not five minutes later Scottâs entire world resets.
He thinks, for a minute, heâd missed his opportunity, that now Liamâs left the secret in the past, and a potential has come and goneâbut the next time they have beer, after Scott weathers the blow of the turian ark, Scott doesnât mince words. He reaches for Liamâs beer and sets it aside with still hands, from determination and the confidence of knowing thereâs a net to catch you when you jump off the ledge.
This shouldnât be a secret, not with them. He swallows, and says, âI think Iâm in love with you, too.â

Andromeda doesnât give the familiarity of the Milky Way, most of the time. Itâs dark, and unknown, and weird. Scottâs not just saying that because heâs homesick, eitherâitâs just all around kind of a different experience all together.
Even the people that like Andromeda, that ran away from the Milky Way in the hopes of finding something for themâScottâs talked with enough people to know it exists beyond just himself.
So thereâs not a lot of simple pleasures in Andromedaâno ice cream, not in the way Scott remembers it, not enough coffee for a hundred thousand humans, nothing like there was back home. The stars are different, the seasons are differentâ
Except Voeld. Itâs storming on the better days, still, since Scott still hasnât made his way to the vault, and even the grumpiest of the crew gets out and smiles.
A little.
At first.
Then thereâs the wet armor, the smell of sweat from too-hot suits. Scott considers incinerating a perfectly good set of underarmor because it smells that bad.
But itâs good, familiar. Scott especially likes how easy it is to get a rise out of Liam, who huddles close to him and frowns across the snowy landscape.
âWanna make snow angels?â Scott asks, smiling. Liam just makes a noise. âAll right. Snowmen, then?â
âIâm already soaked through,â Liam says, finally looking at him. âWhen can we go back to the Tempest? Got a few ideas to warm up.â
His voice goes a little sensual, and Scott has to focus his attention on anything else just to get through it. âCome on, when was the last time you played in the snow? Built a snowman?â
âProbably when I was a kid, Ryder, andâwhatâs that look?â
Scottâs already backing away, though, and he reaches down to grab a handful of snow. âLast time you had a snowball fight?â
âNo,â Liam says, firm, and holds his hand out. âNo, I mean itââ
âCome on!â Scott laughs. âLittle harmless fun! Destressingâll do you good!â
The snowâs perfect for packing. The ball fits nicely in the palm of his hand and it crumbles easy. No ice, no rocks. Just snow.
Scott lifts his arm. In his helmet, Scott hears him say, âDonât you dare.â
âWhatâre you gonna do to me if I do?â Scott asks.
âIâll⌠make you sleep alone?â
Scott grins. Liam canât help himself with that, so Scott lets the snowball fly, and catches Liam in the stomach. The snowball explodes into a flurry of snow that scatters into the wind and falls at Liamâs feet.
Liam brushes it off. Through the comm, Scott hears him sigh.
His entire body feels alight with excitement.
âAll right,â Liam says, âyouâre in for it now.â
Heâs faster than Scott expected him to be, and he yelps, surprised, when Liamâs fingers barely grip at his armor.
He gets a few good shots inâone even hits Liam right on the visor of his helmetâand deals with a few well placed blows himself, until Liam loses interest in the fight and tackles Scott into the ground.
âNot quite what I had in mind for a warm-up,â Liam says, staring down into Scottâs eyes.
âHey, I never said this was the main event,â Scott responds, running his hand along the side of Liamâs chest. âMaybe itâs just the first part of my plan.â
For a few seconds, itâs just the sound of their breathing, until Liam adds, âI really want to kiss you.â
âRight now?â
âRight now.â
Back to the Tempest they go, then. Theyâre probably wondering whatâs taking so long anyway. Scott pushes a hand against Liamâs chest, and says, âGotta get me out of my armor, first. Think youâre up to the task?â

for the prompt thing: 58 for ryder x liam <3 <3
ââŚAny questions?â
Blank faces. All of them. Scottâs pretty sure all of them are speechless, which heâd always thought was impossible. Still, the pride dissipates into fear quick, because if he doesnât have his team, he canât do it.
âYou know, the whole renegade thing? Not your style. Shepard, though. He had the expressions for it,â Liam says, but his eyes are kind and Scott just chuckles at him, dropping his head.
Thatâs all it takes, and the rest of them are on board.
Later, though, Liam corners Scott in the same room, staring down over a map of Heleus. âGot a minute?â
Scottâs shoulders drop, and he nods. Itâs been a long dayâchecking the Tempest is in order for the flight, checking they have enough supplies.
Checking no oneâs going to mark him for arrest.
Liam presses his body against Scottâs back, rests his head on Scottâs shoulder. âHey, Ryder?â
Scott hums.
âThis is a stupid plan.â
Scott groans.
âItâs half-cocked. No idea where the quarian ark is, and you want to find it. Thatâs good, noble, but weâre not a fighting ship. The Tempest canât take fire, and weâre like sitting ducks.â
âNo one else wants to look for them,â Scott says. âAnd itâs beenâfuck, how long has it been since we heard from them?â He tenses, shakes his head. âI donât like the idea of leaving people behind.â Liam doesnât say anything, just draws circles over Scottâs skin on his hips. âSo, if you want to hang back, keep a safe distance to whatever Iâm going to fuck up, thenââ
Liam presses his lips to the side of Scottâs jaw. âAre you kidding? Come on. Wouldnât miss this for the world.â
âIâm like 20% sure this plan work. Thereâs an 80% chance we could die horribly and violently, but this plan is solid, I swear.â scott/liam
âDo you trust me?â Liam says, holding his hand out. Scott barely sees it in his peripheral vision, because heâs staring down at the valley beneath them instead. Thereâs a horde of rampaging creatures behind them, and Scottâs trying to figure out if itâs a better idea to turn around and fight, or to test out whatâs left of the jump jetsâwhich seems to be Liamâs plan.
In the back of his head, SAMâs saying, âYour chances of survival increase exponentially with Liamâs plan,â but zero times 100 is still zero.
Liam x Scott = #51
âI canât dance,â Scott says, laughing as Liam holds out his hand and makes eyes that would put a puppy to shame.
Heâs standing in the middle of their empty apartment on Eos, actual, hardwood floors under his feet. A small stack of boxes line the wall behind him, and Liamâs ratty couch from the Tempest is the only other furniture in the room.
âNeither can I,â Liam says. âYou donât see that stopping me.â
So Scott shakes his head and accepts his hand, curling the other down to Liamâs hip and behind his back. âThe things you get me into,â Scott says, smiling.
âHey, I think you have me beat on that. Wild goose chase across the galaxy for a mysterious hostile alien leader?â Liam grins. âA little domestic slow dancing in our new home seems tame.â
Thereâs a soft song playing from Liamâs omni-tool, with a simple enough melody even Scott can keep track of it. âCan you believe it?â he asks, as Liam traces his fingers across the top of Scottâs shoulders. âNew home on a new planet in a new galaxyâŚâ
âKind of like a dream, isnât it?â
âYeah,â Scott says, but then a lot about being with Liam is like a dream. âYou know, I worried for a long time if Iâd regret this. Moving to a new galaxy, even with Sara and Dad, just felt like I was making the wrong decision the entire time.â
Liam doesnât move his feet much, just keeps them more or less swayingâhardly dancing, but probably the better choice since Liamâs wearing socks. âFor what itâs worth,â Liam says, his expression open and honest, âIâm glad you came.â
He thinks, for a second, what itâd be like back in the Milky Wayâmiserable, lonely. Unemployed, more than likely. Heâd lost his standing in the Alliance because of his fatherâand itâs unlikely he wouldâve survived the Reapersâif anyone did.
But thatâs not what matters. Thatâs not what makes the decision feel right in Scottâs mind. Itâs not that heâs respected here, or that he was allowed to do a job here that did, in time, pull him from his fatherâs shadow.
Itâs Liamâhonest and loyal and determined, and so damned intent on making Andromeda work he inspired Scott to make Pathfinder something people could hear and sigh in relief.
âSo am I,â Scott says. He doesnât say any of the restânot even an âI love youâ, which are exchanged with such regularity Scottâs surprised it still floods his entire body with warmth when Liam returns itâbut Liam smiles, in that soft, reverent way he has, before he pulls Scott towards him in a hug.
