LFO - "Nurture (Surgeon Mix)" Warp10+3 Remixes 1999 Drill n Bass / Drum n Bass / IDM
Birmingham's Surgeon taking a chunk of Sheffield bleep techno legends LFO's "Nurture," slowing it to an ambient crawl, making it all lo-fi, grainy, and dreamy, and then splashing some choppy splotches of drum n bass atop it. I don't think 'ambient drill n bass' or 'atmospheric drill n bass' are actual genre names, but that's the best way to describe this one, I think. Surgeon's best known for his techno, and in 2007 he'd release a highly sought after mix on Warp, but before that, this tune marked his first actual work with the label. Nice exclusive 👍.
