Seems like everyday weβre losing another legend. π RIP to the incomparable icon Roy Ayers. Roy Ayerβs was a true master & god of his craft, a man that wore many hats. He was a funk/soul/jazz composer, vibraphone player, music producer, pioneer, visionary, innovator & icon. Not only did he pioneer jazz-funk, but he has been dubbed 'The Godfather of Neo Soul' β in other words, where would your favorite artist be without Roy Ayers legacy. Heβs best known for the tune that I know you all are familiar with 'Everybody Loves the Sunshine' , βSearchin' & 'Running Awayβ. At one time, he was even said to have had more sampled hits by rappers than any other artist. Rest in Peace & Power Roy. Thanks to you, music has been forever changed & your legacy will never die.
