As a bisexual woman that has always been anxious to experience my attraction with women, the movie Leviticus has really impacted me. As a fan had said, there was this tenderness throughout the entirety of the horror storyline. There is hate, shame, self-loathing, sadness, fear, and guilt in the monsters and within the boys themselves. But the boys also represent bravery, acceptance, love, strengths, yearning, and a need for one another. There are parallels of love and hate represented in symbols who look exactly alike but hold entirely different meanings from each other. At the end, instead of rejecting themselves, they leave the town who couldn’t accept them.
There is so much dimension to what the boys feel, which I think is a really great representation of the confusion (and maybe even anxiousness) in accepting and freely experiencing your own sexuality. “Freely” refers to my own mind and the opinions of others- just like in Leviticus.
As I said before, I have always been afraid to explore my attraction to woman due to the opinions of family and society. However, Leviticus makes me feel I can accept myself. Watching the love spark between these two boys, and their courage to fight to accept each other, makes me feel so strongly to want that feeling too and without fear.
Queer media is so important and I am so grateful for Leviticus, specifically Ryan and Naim, to show me what that feels like.
While I love the story of Leviticus for the plot, I also appreciate it for the emotions the characters evoke in me.
Canon Queer of the Day:
Ryan Whelan
Ryan Whelan is a main character from Leviticus! He is canonically MLM and heavily implied to be gay and has a boyfriend named Naim Reid, as well as an ex-boyfriend named Hunter.

i personally think the reason why Ryan is an exhibitionist and doesnt know how to have gay sex in the comfort of his own home is because the constant suppression of his queerness and the fear of being outed in his religious small town became a psychosexual (?idk if im using that word right) tendency of his so he does it outside because its as "out" as he'll ever feel/ be hmmmhmhmhmhmhmhm
