I’ve been seeing that cute Milky Subway cyborg boy all over twitter who looks like Levi and I was kinda bummed out that he is in fact a cyborg, not a robot. Cyborgs look cool with their fancy shiny glowy bodies but they retain their humanity. Unlike robots/androids, they’re not ai. They have their human brains—they’re not programmed, they’re sentient. They think. They feel. Which led me to wonder about Robot!Levi. I’m looking up refs and getting ideas about a design when it hit me..

Levi as a robot wouldn’t work.

His humanity is a core element of his character, a defining trait, his very meaning and purpose in AOT’s narrative! I still like the cyborg concept and want to come up with a design plus him “enhancing” his body with mechanical parts would suit his character because he thinks he’s not good enough and needs to be better—more useful. But you just can’t strip him of his humanity and turn him into an unfeeling hunk of metal, his heart is such an integral part of him.

Robot!Erwin would work though.
