Olin päässyt kohtuullisesti aluille uuden puhelimen testaamisessa kunnes jouduin toteamaan että puhelin ei enää käynnistynytkään latausikkunaa pidemmälle. Tällainen saattaisi aiheuttaa suurempiakin tunteen purkauksia ihmisessä tilanteesta riippuen, kuitenkin onneksi olin niin kiireinen lauantaisen hääkuvauspäivän valmisteluissa että en kerennyt asiasta stressaamaan pahemmin. Tipautin Smartsonille viestiä asiasta ja kysyin neuvoa, ja he lupasivatkin ystävällisesi toimittaa uuden puhelimen pikimmiten. SIM-kortti vanhaan luuriin ja menoksi. Puhelimen näyttö ei pariin päivään ladannut käynnistysikkunaa pidemmälle

En kuitenkaan halunnut jättää asiaa sikseen. Mitä siis tehdä kun puhelin kenkkuilee, kilautetaan tietenkin kaverille joka sattumoisin työskentelee paikallisessa puhelinten korjaukseen erikoistuneessa firmassa. Hän ei osannut kuitenkaan sanoa asiaan juuta eikä jaata, lähinnä koska malli on niin uusi että käyttökokemuksia ei vielä pahemmin ole (tässähän niitä yritetään kasata :) ) LGMobile Support Tool Hän kuitenkin muisteli että LG tarjoaa puhelimilleen korjaustyökalun asennettavaksi tietokoneelle ja kehotti testaamaan sitä. Pikku surffauksen jälkeen löysinkin ohjelmiston LGMobile Support Tool.

Asennus sujuin varsin helposti, ja suomenkielinen ohjelmisto auttoi asiaa. Seuraava ongelma tulikin vastaan kun puhelimesta olisi pitänyt valita yhteystilan tyyppi tietokoneen ja puhelimen välille. Tähänkin ongelmaan internet tarjosi ratkaisua nimeltä Download Mode.

Sammuta puhelin

Paina puhelimen takaa äänenvoimakkuusnäppäintä ylöspäin (VOL UP)

Painaessa näppäintä kytke usb-kaapeli tietokoneesta puhelimeen

Jatka VOL UP napin painamista kunnes näyttöön ilmestyy Download Modesta kertova teksti.

Kun yhteys on saatu tietokoneen ja puhelimen välille LGMobile Support Tool asentaa puhelimen vaatimat ajurit automaattisesti tietokoneeseen. Ainoa tehtävä on valita puhelimen malli näytöltä, ja tämä selvisi puhelimen paketista LG-D855

Ohjelmisto lataa tämän jälkeen tietokoneelle suuren n. 1200 Mt kokoisen tiedoston, joka sisältää ilmeisesti puhelimen ohjelmistot. Latauksen jälkeen ohjelmiston asennus puhelimeen kesti noin 5 minuuttia, jonka jälkeen puhelin käynnistyi iloisesti uudelleen :) Huomioita
