the pentar masterpost
In this post I will discuss all of Pentar's videos, with a touch of how I interpret their lore, in chronological order of posting. Mostly. Probably. Minor spoilers ahead, beware.
"I Beat Sandiction in Hardcore Minecraft" (singleplayer) An introduction to Pentar. Not really worth watching unless you're a completionist and/or you've watched all Pentar's other videos and are still looking for more. If it's the latter might I simply recommend his second channel video "i don't get scared at minecraft" or his second second channel, PentarLIVE?
"I Removed This in 1.27 Seconds!" (singleplayer) My only note after watching through his videos for the first time was, and I quote: "ohhhh this guy's a Director director"
"This Minecraft Server was Ruined by a Chicken" (Power) This is his first SMP video and I can never for the life of me remember what happens in it. I've tried. I've really tried. My main takeaway is that he took the lead of his team (could be unreliable narrator) and tries to protect and provide for his team no matter how off-task they are.
"Joining Trapped Minecraft Servers" (Strength) First video of real note, in terms of lore. Pentar joins an SMP where spawn has been surrounded by an obsidian wall. He escapes to learn that there is a group of people who want to destroy spawn, and spends his time on the SMP fighting against them.
"Minecraft's Deadliest Team" (SMP Wars) Four teams fight to the death. He's on an underdog team with fewer players than the others. Yet again, he's left trying to help a team that has no team identity: they're all working mostly solo, and Pentar is interested in working together and sharing gear. This video makes it clear he's willing to throw away his morals if it means his teammates are safe.
"100 Secret Rooms to Trick Enemies" (creative) Pentar creates 100 rooms that are supposed to appear trapped, but don't actually contain any traps. He hopes to scare or intimidate the several people he invites to run the 100 rooms, but doesn't fool anyone.
"This Player Trapped Himself" (Strength) Pentar builds a trap and gets another player to activate it, effectively killing themself. Also, Pentar learns how to break bedrock. He kills this person because they killed one of his teammates (see: Pentar's devout loyalty).
"Fighting a War Against Myself" (Strength) With his right hand man Salem, Pentar creates a serverwide war against himself on an alt account.
"Letting Enemies Destroy my Base" (Strength) Pentar tricks someone into revealing their base location after asking them to destroy his. The other person then kills Pentar with his own trap in their base. This evens out the 7-8-9 trilogy in which he wins, then has a net zero victory-loss situation, then loses.
"Using Creative Mode to Get Revenge" (Strength) LORE. Following Video 8, a player called Gelations is upset that Pentar used the members of the server to kill each other for his own entertainment; in retaliation, Gelations forms the Pentar-Salem Revenge Organization (PSRO). In defense, Pentar asks his friend Yungwill (Yungy) for creative mode. Yungy gives him op powers, effectively making him a god. However, he misuses his power; Yungy betrays him and helps the PSRO kill him, removing his op powers. After this video, Pentar changes. He becomes a better fighter. By the time he joins Lifesteal in a few videos, he has a reputation as a good fighter. Why the change? Simple: Pentar is tired of being hunted. Before this, he alternates being the hunter and the hunted. He's neither predator nor prey; more a mix of both. But after his closest friend's betrayal, and after losing his short-lived godhood, Pentar is done. He's done being a normal human and he's absolutely done being hunted. He becomes the hunter, the character we see in SMPCiv and Lifesteal S6. He trains until he'll never be hunted helplessly again.
"Giving Enemies my Entire Kingdom" (Strength) Pentar has seen the error of his ways; he moves far away to a distant kingdom on a different season of Strength. With his friend Twirps, he resists a dictator by building an empire, trapping it, and purposely losing it so he can blow up the other team. Well hello there, self-sacrifice, I didn't know Pentar could do that!
"He Loves His Base, So I Put It On The Moon" (Levels) Craving just a fraction of the power he'd felt as a god on Strength, Pentar goes above and beyond just to psychologically torment one guy in particular. Why that guy? Idk, that's just who was around, I guess. (Technically it's because he killed Pentar, but Pentar claims he "intentionally" fell for it. Sure, buddy.) He rebuilds a base not once but twice in the process of moving it to the moon.
"Killing Immortal Players to Get Revenge" (Levels) Pentar follows JumperWho into battle. This will never age poorly and he will not be led astray in the future. After logging off with a headache, Pentar finds himself the last man standing on his team, and needs to get revenge; but along the way he once again finds himself more attached to his teammates than they are to him. When betrayed, he's far too quick to forgive and trust the traitor again. "Although my ultimate goal is to kill Flame or Jaiden, revenge isn't the only thing I want. What I truly want is to simply protect my teammates." HE MAKES ME ILL.
"Can I Trust My Enemy?" (Lifesteal S5) "This is my first time playing on this server, and I just got spawnkilled due to a player called MinuteTech." But, knowing Minute is powerful and not trusting he'll be able to kill Minute, Pentar decides to ally with him. He creates a series of trust exercises designed to woo Minute ahem I mean test whether Minute is willing to be loyal to Pentar or whether he'll drop Pentar after he gets his promised hearts. "I realized that if I wanted Minute to trust me, I'd also have to learn how to trust him." <- This would be a wonderful sentiment were Pentar not the guy who trusts his teammates far too much already... "I just now realized I was not only doing all this because he killed me when i joined, but ultimately because I wanted someone to trust." If that doesn't encapsulate Pentar's S5 I don't know what does.
"I Survived a 1000 Player Minecraft Server" (Lifesteal Public) Throughout the video, every time he's gearing up, he mentions that he's doing so for his team or so he can help his team or so he can give his resources to his team—you get the gist.
"Why I Betrayed Minecraft's Deadliest Civilization" (SMP Civilization 2) Pentar joins up with Yungwillx and Twirps (yes, of Strength SMP fame) to betray the Lifesteal civilization and win as their own team. However, after Twirps begs Pentar to kill him, and Yungy dies in a fight, Pentar goes on a revenge trip and eventually realizes he doesn't deserve to win after betraying his team.
"1 Week to Void the World" (Lifesteal S5) On Lifesteal, Pentar follows Jumper's lead and joins the Void Ponies (Team Abyss) as they attempt to remove the spawn at bedrock unless Lifestealers become active enough to solve an ARG. Pentar feels like a fifth wheel as the others continue to make fun of him when he messes up or isn't in on the plan. Despite this, the rest of the server is firmly against Abyss and include Pentar in that feud. Important note: Though it appears he intended to release a video for the remainder of S5, he never did. The season didn't go how he expected it to for him; instead of getting revenge on the person he promised to, he teams up with them. For a better idea of the rest of Pentar's S5, I recommend watching Jumper's video. Remember that quote from video 14? "...I was not only doing all this because he killed me when I joined, but ultimately because I wanted someone to trust." Pentar just wants someone to trust, and he thinks he can trust Jumper blindly. Again he is burned by this.
"I Have Minecraft's Deadliest Secret" (Lifesteal S6) Pentar finds himself teamed with ECorridor, someone who has vowed not to involve himself in any conflict and to avoid killing people. This causes problems for Pentar, who loves killing people. When ECorridor is offline, Pentar is a killing machine; when ECorridor returns, Pentar removes his excess hearts and pretends he hasn't done anything. He makes deals to protect ECorridor while putting himself in danger, and concludes the video by giving ECorridor a heart.
"This Player Can't Die" (Lifesteal S6) Pentar admits he's been killing people for ECorridor and works to get him to 20 hearts, since ECorridor is one of few immortal players (players who haven't died yet on the server) and wants to be the last surviving immortal.
"I Created a Secret Minecraft Civilization" (Lifesteal S6) Pentar gets the feeling ECorridor is hiding something from him. Instead of confronting him like a normal person, Pentar builds a secret civilization beneath the place where he gives ECorridor hearts, and invites everyone on Lifesteal except ECorridor to contribute. Zam has something interesting to say about all this, so he and Pentar strike a deal. Zam shows Pentar ECorridor's secret. Finally, Pentar invites ECorridor into the secret civilization and, having exposed his own "secret", asks if there's anything ECorridor wants to tell him.
"Lifesteal SMP: The Great Secrets War" (Lifesteal S6 supercut) This is a supercut of the previous three videos. Someday I will scan through it and figure out which scenes are added, as apparently there are some that aren't in the original videos. The lore here is that he's a newly shifted werewolf (see video 10, after which he resolves to never be hunted again) and ECorridor finds him exhausted, nursing him back to health (he teams with Pentar because Pentar's internet connection is really terrible). Pentar loves his killing sprees when he's shifted but tries to hide it from ECorridor. And Pentar has Issues with a capital I.
"This Vault Holds Minecraft's Deadliest Wish" (Conquest SMP) Pentar and Yungy team up with their enemy, Jaden, to try and secure the wish, which grants a player on the server the power to wish for anything.
"I Stole A Minecraft Civilization" (Conquest SMP) Seeking revenge on Jaden for the events of Video 22, Pentar and Yungy decide to steal Jaden's entire civilization from him (more like a castle and empty town) with the help of Twirps.
"I Built a Secret Minecraft Civilization" (Unsure—cast appears to be from Strength SMP and I have been treating it as such) - not to be confused with video 20, "I Created a Secret Minecraft Civilization" -_- Pentar discovers that Yungy has been keeping secrets from him. In retaliation, he builds a secret civilization and teams up with someone named Rejoice. I don't know how else to summarize this one except that it makes me sob every time. The lore here is that Pentar has even more issues than I previously thought was possible, and keeps getting himself into abusive situations in which his teammates only think of him as a tool while he just revels in being useful. This one is particularly bad because Pentar truly believes Rejoice is teamed with him for more than his fighting prowess or anything else Pentar could do for him...
"I Used /kill on the Lifesteal SMP" (Lifesteal S7) Typical Lifesteal shenanigans: Pentar whips up a way to nearly instakill any player of his choosing, and tests it on a variety of Lifestealers.
"Hunting a Minecraft Team That Went Missing" (Lifesteal S7) Pentar attempts to hunt and kill every member of Apocalypse. What actually happens is he kills most of them and spends to esecond half of the video hunting down Minute before admitting defeat due to scheduling mishaps. No specific lore here, just the connection to his obsession with Minute from video 14 :)
"Lifesteal SMP: The Great Reset" (Lifesteal S7) Mid-S7, Pentar decides to completely reset himself. He drops down to 10 hearts, clears his inventory and e-chest, and starts over at spawn from nothing.
"The Search for Minecraft's Secret Civilization" (Lifesteal S7) Pentar hunts down Apocalypse's secret base in the End.
Honorary Mention: Brother SMP Series Pentar joins his brother's SMP and wreaks havoc. There's not much I've drawn from these videos other than one overall take: He's so good as a tool wielded by others; but the moment he tries to wield someone else in the same way he is wielded, he sucks at it.
Supplemental videos: Gelations wages war on Pentar & Salem: Part 1, Part 2
Firm believer that Flame does not have any scars on his face. Maybe in a universe or two, he'd get a nick on his ears or maybe a scar on his neck, but he'll never EVER have a scar on his face. Yes, there are countless people that have noticed and tried. Yes, they'd fail EVERY time (he'd wake up immediately and eat gaps before the wound can even scar whenever someone would attempt while he's asleep). And YES, he does have tons of scars all over his body (arms and torso, mostly), but NEVER on his face. The worst mark that can happen to his face is a bruise.
Oh, and yes, he does beat Wemmbu in that field. There are indeed universes (smps) where Wemmbu has a scar on his face.
