Gale is a famous EDM DJ, he’s American but he came up in the European scene. 

He has some darkness in his past: abusive father, absentee mother, he hooked up with some wrong people during his early career, only long term relationship left him a bit fucked up. 

Ex used to fuck with his head and hate on his “music”, dude was the larger than life, loved by everyone narcissist kind of type. Gaslit Gale into thinking he needed someone to take care of him. Gale managed to break out of the toxic cycle by the skin of his teeth and he’s understandably skittish around people coming close to him. Threw everything he had into his work and it paid off. 

We find him now years later at the top of his game, he’s well affirmed in the industry and life’s good. Which is when Bucky stumbles in his life and starts grating on the patina.

Bucky musical prodigy, trained in classical music during his school years at a state funded faith school he had a scholarship for. London born and bred. 

Parents died in a car crash when he was 15 and his older sister (nurse) raised him. 

He’s so much bark and very little bite. He looks the complete opposite.

We find him opening for bigger names at festivals, his indie punk rock band (the 100th) is his pride and joy. He’s been in the scene for longer than Gale and he’s found his place in it, his rep within the indie circles is as solid as they come. Lead vocalists and guitarist.

He’s actually pretty fucking well adjusted, thank you very much, he’s got his trauma mostly handled. Unless that trauma is abandonment issues, where you can find his name listed in the dictionary entry.

Other Characters:

Benny: Gale’s PA, oldest friend, his shadow and long suffering handler. Marge’s favorite. (also in a situationship with Brady? And Macon? To be decided)

Curtis: weirdly (not really) enough he’s in both guys’ circles, kind of by accident. Model turned actor, he’s in Gale's inner circle via Marge. Gale ends up accidentally becoming very close friends with Curt (once again, thanks Marge for that). John and Curt are old time friends, they met when they were tweens and got on like a house on fire. Curt's on one of the earliest 100th albums' covers.

Marge: Gale’s publicist. Also Curt’s publicist. Her and Curt slept together. Only guy client Marge ever slept with, never to be repeated if you were to ask her, but she's impossibly attached to the small crazy ass talented Irish. Basically, to quote Nina: “MARGE SLEPT WITH CURT AND MADE IT GALE'S PROBLEM.”

Sandra: Marge’s something. Deputy? EA? PI? Nobody really knows her business title. When asked what she does for a living she replies with an enigmatic “oldest job in the world, dear”. She’s the one to call. For what? Everything.

Helen: is the 100th’s drummer. All around badass, patrons an all female cover band. Part time music teacher. Her husband, Dye, is a civil engineer who wears khaki and Oxford button downs. faith benson is the inspo

Brady: plays guitar and backing vocals. Known as 007 both for the posh accent and his body count/secretiveness. 

Rosie: plays bass. A nerd, like, a complete nerd.

Alex: is the artist who handles the band’s visuals and Helen is the one responsible for bringing him in (she’s the one with taste, everyone).

Croz: runs a cafè that draws in all kinds of artists (cinema, theater, music, typography, photography, you name it) the café is just a magnet for them, Bubbles and Ken (Ken is also the band’s sound guy) both work there. The place is owned by the Egan's siblings, it used to be their parents'.

John’s sister: is a nurse, loves her brother very much, most practical person you’ll ever meet. Works the emergency room, she’s the one to go to for perspective and unhinged advice. She’s the one Bucky inherited the crazy from, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. 

Jack: E.R. doctor, older than John by almost ten years, he’s seen John grow up and patched him up more times than he can count, more of a big brother than a father figure.

Macon: lab tech at Jack and John’s sisters’ hospital, three MSc degrees and a passion for French and Italian cinema.
