I painted a thing.
I usually don’t draw or paint, but working on backgrounds for the Bejeweled clone kind of got me inspired.
I just killed a fucking Leviathan.
THE long awesome story of skullgirls development.
If I’m in a drawing rut I just draw random Isaac shit

Anon who had the EEG in ADHD diagnosis question here. Following up with my experience: The appointment was a bit of a mess, since my psychiatrist apparently quit and got replaced by someone else, so that’s a whole thing. The EEG was apparently also not scheduled to check for ADHD, but just to make sure I didn’t have brain damage. To be honest, that didn’t surprise me. My (previous) psychiatrist didn’t really seem to think that I could have ADHD in the first place (heck, she didn’t even write it down that that was my reason for coming there). Apparently all she wrote down is that I have PTSD and a personality disorder, plus chronical depression.
The new psychiatrist seemed kind of confused and tried to dismiss me by saying “Well, you are in therapy, so you should work on coping methods to deal with this kind of problem.”, but I was insistent that if it could be fixed that way, almost five years of therapy that ended in my therapist telling me to go see a psychiatrist for this issue would probably have changed something before, right?
I was pretty nervous that I would just get sent home with a prescription for an antidepressant to see if that fixes things (I tried that route before, it does not), but she realised how desperate I was, and she let me read out the list of symptoms. Then she asked me what I want to see changed. Eventually she said I should get evaluated for ADHD, which obviously resulted in us exchanging very confused looks, and me explaining that I had told the other psychiatrist that that was exactly what I was here for.
Bottom line: That psychiatrist doesn’t do ADHD diagnosis in adults, but they gave me a bunch of addresses/numbers to call, so maybe one day I will get my evaluation. :’) In the long run, a lot of this mess could have been avoided if the first psychiatrist wouldn’t have just dismissed me suggestion ADHD as a possible diagnosis, just because I failed to get my point across (or she may or may not have very ableist views of what ADHD should look like?). I’m glad that I was insistent with the new psychiatrist and that she took me seriously, and while I dread to call all those numbers, it’s a relief to at least have ONE professional agree that ADHD is a likely possibility.
(Sorry for the long rant, I really needed to share this right now.)
No kidding you needed to share. Ugh, how disappointing and frustrating! I hope you’re able to get properly assessed soon. Props for standing up for yourself with the new psychiatrist. I’m really proud of you for that!
