tell the night [ eunae & hyeri ]

She rarely ever found herself listening to the radio. So she would kindly blame this on the fact that she had to reset her device while she was saving some recordings onto her laptop and forgot to put back the songs she needed for a good run.
Now there she was running to the sound of the radio's music, pausing at times so the hosts could throw in some commentaries. What bothered her the most was the commercials, some of them were just downright awful. It made her pause at one point, tugging her phone from against the belt around her waist and frowning at it.
If she didn't adore the thing she probably would have smashed it by now. She ran to not think, not to be thrown into a massive noise attack. Her fingers switched, trying to find one station that wouldn't be filled with commercials. Her ears perked up as she stopped on one particular one, she listened on it without even meaning to, hearing someone talk about their life.
"I have a sister that ran away, a brother that doesn't talk to the family anymore, he literally is never home. Always making excuses and one that got banned. Not that it's bad, I prolly have it easy compared to others since," There's a sneer.
"We have money, I guess. But I just wished it'd go back to how it was. I don't even know where it went wrong. Just one day she left for seven years, when she came back she wasn't the same. She still played and joked around but she felt like she wasn't ours anymore. I guess that's why it didn't surprise me that she left again. But what about our parents, y'know. Especially mom. I'm never sure if I envy the way she doesn't seem to care or hate her for it."
Not that she cared, and she really wouldn't have paid attention if it wasn't for how the voice sounded so familiar. She could have sworn it was Haerim's voice, even thought she hadn't heard of him in a week. But it was him, she could bet her life on it now. Now that he was mentioning something about his mother not handling the fact that their family isn't the same without her daughter and he'd never said that to her.
She felt a surge of anger, disappointment too. In herself or in him? She wasn't sure. But the anger was for him, for keeping everything he was spilling over to a stranger over the radio as if he was the only one concerned. What rights did he have to go and talk about her as well, spread their mother's feelings for the world to pick on?
Before she knew what she was doing, she was already memorising the number to call once his call was done to get in touch with the radio in question.
Her legs making her go in circle as she waited for the ringing to stop and the voice of the host to let her in. If he wanted to tell the world how he felt, she'd do it his way as well. How immature. She shook the chuckle that followed the voice away, resisting the urge to pout, yes it was. Very much so.
