Letter 30 - Your reflection in the mirror
Hey beautiful,
You've changed and grown so much in the past couple of years. I'm really proud of you. Years ago, I wouldn't have said to you that you're beautiful. They always said that beauty is from the inside out and I always knew there was more than flesh and bones but I think I understand that line a lot better now than before. I see you, I see you as beautiful.
When I look at you I see the daring-ness in dying your naturally black hair blonde. When I look at you I see round, asian eyes that I have come to appreciate. When I look at you, I see eyebrows that you take time to groom. When I look at you I see a body that you take care of. When I look at you I see a small mouth with thin lips that I know you take time to think about before you use them. When I look at you, I see beauty. When I look at you, I am reminded of your hardships and experiences. I am reminded of where you come from and where you are now. Everyday that I see you I remember to keep going. Seeing you is the only reminder. I don't like to see tears run down your face but I know that they help you. I admire that you let yourself cry. I like to see you dress up and put on makeup. I like to see you try different things and experiment. I like to see you succeed and do well. I like to see you be you. That's what I really want for you, to see your own beauty regardless of what other people think. What matters most is what you think.
I know the road is long but I'm here for you. I'll be your rock.
Love you, Kylie 02/02/2014
