He stopped with a sharp intake of breath.  John straightened and shifted closer to his friend.  "Wanted to what?“

Sherlock turned his head away, and John watched his shoulders rise and fall slowly as he struggled.  Then the detective turned back with a gaze so piercing it startled him.  "She wanted to hurt me.  Again.”
