I’ve been listening to the cocktail pairing podcast Let’s Drink About It (http://www.letsdrinkabout.it/) (http://ldai.tumblr.com). The two hosts and a guest match a drink with a life-experience. There are a lot of jokes and cocktail histories (or ‘apocrypha’ according to the hosts) and good ideas. This drink was not matched with an experience, but the recipe did come from the podcast. It’s really simple: add some Galliano to a grapefruit radler.
The result is delicious. It tastes like a creamsicle - perfect for a summer afternoon porchsit. The ratio isn’t fussy. I did about a half ounce of Galliano with a half-pint of radler. Being modest with the vanilla liqueur is probably a good starting point, since it can quickly become overpowering and cloying, but that’s a matter of personal taste. If you were feeling fancy, you could also add some peychaud’s bitters or a lemon twist.
