Chitr by Sahil Kochhar The Autumn/winter 2018 collection 'CHITR' draws its inspiration from the colorful artworks of Ayumi Takahashi. She is a global artist who has lived in China, Japan, and America. Her work is greatly influenced by the people she meets and her life experiences, rendering them in her signature abstract, bold paper cut designs. The collection encompasses the many facets of her creations, and through it represents the strong and individualistic portrayal of women in her work. Takahashi is inspired by the emotional reaction people have towards color and this collection aspires to soothe the soul with brilliance of colors. Takahashi's bold, graphic and whimsical approach reflects in the color palette of Black, Dark Teal, Light Grey and Pale pink with striking florals in Mustard, Bright Red, Beige, Olive and Pink. The use of bright colors are in stark contrast to the mysterious edge that her figures posses. Bold abstract paper-cut floral motifs are translated into suede applique, paired with geometric patterns. Checks, squares and stripes juxtaposed with vivid matisse like blooms. The collection is an ode to artists around the world, who through their craft inspire people and impact positive change in our society. @amazonfashionin @thefdci @nexaexperience @wfivecommunication#AIFWAW18 #LetItPret (at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium)
