#lethal trackdown

Apart from this line being sick as heck, it stood out to me rewatching this episode - because how is it that I've never, ever seen anybody use it to paint the Jedi as arrogant, or as fanatic vigilantes who only answer to themselves?

Yoda gets a lot of flak for admitting that some Jedi have grown arrogant in AotC and this is the episode that people use to tear Mace apart for supposedly being mean to Boba, but Plo gets nothing? Not an ounce of criticism for saying something as harsh and uncompromising? For calling the Order justice itself?

And he freaking disses Anakin in front of Ahsoka in this very episode! He acts like a cop in the lower levels! The fandom loves to nitpick every single thing Jedi like Mace, Luminara, Yoda or Ki-Adi do - now imagine if one of them had said this line. They'd be called "everything wrong with the Order" and "the embodiment of the arrogance of the Jedi." But Plo is "everything they should have been."

Gosh, he literally just said “you murdered my father” to Mace Windu’s face and I still can’t take him seriously. Like this should be an emotional moment but Baby Fett looks like Mace ate the last ice cream bar or something.

Okay, I completely forgot that Hondo was in this episode!  It was so nice to see him again, especially seeing him speak to Boba about honor.  It gives a lot more meaning to his character.

Of course I also forgot that he was dating Aurra Sing and I cringed a lot when she kissed him because....no.

Plo Koon is so cool.  I love how he interacts with Ahsoka, especially when he literally tells her that Anakin isn’t subtle, but she needs to learn how to be subtle.  And then she does something that isn’t exactly subtle, but it sends them on their way to Florrum.  Progress, my friends.

Also, that scene where Ahsoka is facing off against Aurra Sing?  One of the most amazing fights of this season!  We know that Aurra survives this, but still, I love it.

Stand down!

I love how even this is supposed a super futuristic time, the holograms are still echoey and shake all the time.

I just now remembered that James Arnold Taylor also voices Plo Koon in this show, along with a bunch of other characters

Why do the Twilek girls look kinda ugly?  I liked the female Twilek designs a lot better in Rebels.

That was a stripper!  There’s a stripper in “Star Wars:  The Clone Wars!”  And this was supposed to be a kid’s show!

Oh my God!  The amount of background conversation that got past the freaking radar!  Jesus Christ!

Wait so Hondo’s gang knows about Hondo and Aurra.  Daaaaannnnggg what went down?

What are those dog things?

That’s a pretty sweet office Hondo’s got.

So what species is Plo Koon?

Hondo’s probably hearing the explosion and going “I put good money into that bar!  Meh.  At least she kicked ass though.”

Hondo was just waiting for the commotion to come outside!

In “Lethal Trackdown”, right before Aurra Sing kills [name withheld for spoiler reasons], she commands him to say his name for the Jedi who are undoubtedly watching the holo transmission.

But he doesn’t.

Instead, he states his designation number.

Which begs the question .  .  . why?

Honestly, I think it was an act of defiance.  An act of pride – the noble kind, that is.  One last clever “f**k you” before he joins his fallen brothers.  After all, why should he give his name to his killer?!  Why give her that privilege?  She couldn’t care less what his bloody name is – and what’s more, she doesn’t deserve to know it.  His brothers do, the generals do, and when he states his number in the recording he knows that they’ll associate it with his name.  With his true identity.

But Aurra?  Nooo, Aurra gets two letters and a random four-digit number that don’t mean shit.  Not to her, and not to him.  Not since he became more than just an organic weapon mass-produced in the sterile, white labs of Kamino.  His name means something, though – it means everything.  And this ruthless bounty hunter holding a blaster to his head doesn’t deserve to hear it.  So he gives her his number – a meaningless identifier that has nothing to do with who he really is.  A warrior.  A commander.  A son of Mandalore.
