♛(Lestat) Merci beaucoup, anonyme! After my long rest, Louis appreciated the effort taken to welcome him home for date night. Well, he didn't respond. He was surely consumed with emotion.

♛ Anon, excellent question. Hair dyes have been around for centuries and I've dyed my hair every color of the rainbow, fashioned in every style I have the length for, and even learned to do braided styles on myself and others... dark colors don't particularly flatter my complexion unless done as streaks, or among other colors. If I have an event to attend, I might favor variations of viking braids in pastel colors, with varied sizes, and a good amount of loose locks for volume.

And when I complain, rightly so, when Louis trims his hair, it's also because he's limiting my raw material to play with, he has just enough length to play with bobby pins and small braids, when he's in the mood to let me plunge my hands into those luscious messy waves.

...You know, not many know this, but he actually adores strong finger combing, it's an erogenous zone he guards from others.

♛(Lestat) You may ask, chérie, and as your message has struck a chord, I hope this answer offers a fresh perspective for you. 

Before I get too far with it: I’ll have to base this on your own assessment of your appearance, and you could be wrong. All it takes is a few harsh words in our formative years to make a wound that stubbornly won’t heal, torn open again and again by others who do it with their casual judgmental words, or failure to be supportive. Or the seed for this misconception could be planted later in life.  

First of all, I adore fat women! Fat men, too. Fat children, puppies, seals, owls... all beautiful. It's a crime that people are categorized apart from the rest of the animal kingdom. There's beauty in the way flesh envelopes the human structure, the way it moves in different conditions, in different fabrics, teasingly showing through fishnet tights... when a woman swims in a lit pool at night, her silhouetted form ripples and changes through the lens of the water. It’s no secret that I love certain endowments (you know which ones I mean!) on women, in all shapes and sizes. Touching people is part of my job, so to speak, and I am drawn to those, to put it bluntly, who I want to touch. I’m captivated by nude and draped statues in museums, churches, graveyards. Marble and stone that the artist has made to look flexible as the figure leans against a pillar, or fingers that are larger than life bite into the flesh of a thigh so deeply that you can nearly see the pulse of the veins on the hand, the flex of the muscles in the thigh. Art!

Fashions come and go, too. A gap in the front teeth has been considered sexy at different times. It’s sometimes fashionable to have more weight on one’s body, and in fact was a sign of wealth, that your family had enough profit to indulge in treating themselves beyond what was needed for survival. I took particular pride in indulging my aging father with a more decadent table than he had ever provided for me, but I also hated him for that, and I was cruel to him. Perhaps by giving him these excesses, I could justify punishing him at the same time.

As far as "ugly"... I've seen ugly in myself, many times in my life. But it wasn't the times as a desiccated corpse, drenched in swamp sludge, or covered with scars from the fire my own fledglings applied so lovingly. There were decades spent avoiding even touching my own face, wearing shawls and gloves so I wouldn’t have to look at the distorted flesh. There will be times in your life when you won’t feel beautiful, and no one can convince you otherwise, and perhaps those are times to heal, and plan your next steps. I was a hermit and kept to myself until I was well and truly ready, emotionally and physically, to dive back into the thrum of life itself.

So, I wasn't ugly then. Wounded. I am ugly when I do cruel things, when I’m awful to my loved ones, like my father, whatever my reasons may be. I’m a selfish creature and I expect things to go a certain way, and I have a short fuse, and that’s when I’m hideous. 

But, essays could be written on all this. I could bring up examples of people who are fat or ugly in the way you originally meant, examples of people one might say in spite of their weight, or in spite of their unconventional physical characteristics, they are/were talented enough to earn respect or deserve being called beautiful. It’s a cruel world that says being called ‘beautiful’ must be earned. 

How dull would it be if we all thought of beauty the same way? An intellectual wasteland. It would be as if we could all only sing one song. Beauty is in the variation, playing a song in different ways, writing new songs altogether, embracing the unconventional, the novel. 

♛(Lestat here) If not my consort he'd be my Head of Creative Accounting. The man knows numbers and plays the stock market with a deft hand.

"Creative" includes other initiatives, of course, so if not my consort in title, he could certainly still fulfill his Prince's other, less public, requests...

♛(Lestat) I did watch that film, and I've seen it several times since. I have a lot to say about Tyler Durden as a male fantasy, particularly during that time period. That generation (among others) of adults who grew up expecting to achieve their dreams, and instead found themselves in dead-end jobs. Surviving, not living. And seeing it from the outside, fed up on the lies but emotionally starved, fighting back by first sharpening their attacks on each other.

Aside from all that, it's a visual masterpiece. Every time I watch it, I appreciate some detail or side character's performance. The soundtrack is also perfect.

Interesting that you should pair that with a film based (however loosely) on my autobiography, since Fight Club was also adapted from a book. How do I feel about Queen of the Damned? Well, I'm happy it sold more of my books, let's start with that!

Listen, I have no say in which actors are given the mighty challenge of portraying me, it's endlessly amusing, I love them all, each of them in their own way striving to achieve the grandeur and many facets that make me... me. I must say that Stuart Townsend may not have lucked out in the hair department, but he did channel my stage presence very well. Not his choice, but groupies aren't on my menu, unless they've earned it with sufficient evildoing. Someone must have caught my music videos at the time, because those recreations were on the mark! The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari is one of my inspirations, certainly.

(E)asiest person to talk to: For a long time, it was my beloved furry son, Mojo, and he’ll forever be the easiest ‘person’ for me to talk to. Currently? Perhaps David, less interruptions or criticisms from him than anyone else, or at least he phrases it in a way that isn’t as harsh, more palatable. 

(F.)avourite song: Probably one of the hauntingly beautiful duets I did with David Bowie of one of his songs over the years. Pity we never recorded those sessions.

(G)rossest memory: Oh well... this could take us down a long, dark, slimy, twisted path in the darkest of woods, and I’m not interested in such a stroll at this time. If we isolate “gross” to the physical, there are some memories I’d never share with anyone... publicly, I’ve reported the time I gleefully licked my own vomited blood off the stones in a nasty old dungeon almost within reach of a mound of putrid corpses, the freshest of which resembled me. Strangely, I’m not ashamed of it. That’s likely more “gross” than most people would ever experience in their lives.

(H.)ogwarts house: I'd say Hufflepuff as I’m not particularly ambitious or interested in spending my time eyeballs-deep in books like some of the more respectable houses would have me do, but I'm sure the Sorting Hat would prefer to kick me out of the school entirely.

♛I have many favorite animals. Tigers, horses, wolves, dogs, swans, rodents, insects… but above all I’ve always loved snakes, those slender bodies clothed in such gorgeous scales and patterns, that sweet little expression so many of them have with their little flicking tongues, and then those sinister fangs when they open their mouths. I relate deeply to that. I’d love to have a poisonous bite like some of them have. Only, I’d prefer to fire aphrodisiacs into my victims *smiles*

I am honored that you’d want my image on your body in such a permanent way, my eyes and lips always pressed on your skin, touching you, but facing the world outwardly with you as well. So intimate… 

Now I can’t help but wonder: Would you have me on the tender flesh of your neck? Or sprawled across one of the stronger muscles of the body, heralding your strength, a thigh? Perhaps somewhere prominent, you’d always have your “plus one” if I was on your arm *grins*

..Or, somewhere more concealed, covered by your clothing most of the time, existing in that secluded warmth between skin and fabric, only revealed to those you disrobe for? I could be your little secret.
