Home safe and rested. I am greatful for the tests/lessons that presented themselves. Original flight was Wednesday the 2nd @ 3:35, which got cancelled due to weather. All other airlines had also cancelled all of their flights and the first available seat on any following flight was on Friday the 4th @ 3:35, so I locked it in. Then, once again due to weather, it was delayed and switched to 4:20... then 4:30, 5:15, 6:15, 7:00, 7:10, ... and finally around 7:30 we took off. Turbulence made it so that passengers couldn't even get a glass of water on the plane. We bounced and rattled through the clouds the entire flight and by the grace of black baby Jesus, landed safely at 9:08pm. At which time, we were informed that about a dozen planes were waiting ahead of ours, just circling the runway, waiting to allow their passengers to disembark - including one that would need to be fully refueled at the gate that our plane was supposed to park at, and that it would take at least 35min to fill up. At exactly 10:36 pm our plane pulls into its slot, Only to be told that we have to wait 20-30 more minutes until an airport personnel can unlock the other side of the door (or some such foolishness). Due to all flights having been backed up, the line for customs looks like exactly what you're picturing as you read this. As luck would have it, once I get to my booth my rookie customs guy is happy to redirect me to yet another booth because I have a banana in my bag. At a smooth 11:57 pm I enter my home, drop my stuff, and am very grateful that I : 1)made it home safely, in one piece, without losing my shit; 2)have a valid Canadian passport; and 3) even got on a flight, because everything else was cancelled afterwards. Home safe and rested. I am greatful for the tests/lessons that presented themselves. ☺✌🏾 #LessonsInPatience
