“I don’t think this is a wise choice”.

“You worry too much”.

It probably is a bad idea, but it’s one Clarke’s had hermind set on for weeks now. It’d taken careful planning planting the idea in Lexa’smind, and now that she had her girlfriend at the firing range nothing was goingto take that away from her.

“I worry the appropriate amount. If my people were to find out about this they would be furious.”

“Lexa the mountain men are gone. There’s no reason youshouldn’t learn how to fire a gun. You’re the commander, you’re the role model for your people. If you show that using a gun is acceptable they will follow”.

It’s the truth, one laced with Clarke’s personal bias andagenda. Yes Lexa needed to be a role model for her people, but more importantlyshe needed to survive. Their world revolved around survival and Clarke wantedto know that Lexa had every possible advantage.

“I will attempt this, for you, Clarke of the sky people”.

Clarke offers a small smile, and for a moment Lexa returns itbefore retreating back into a more serious expression. Clarke holds the offending pieceof metal out and the way Lexa grasps it is uncomfortable, nothing like theelegant manor in which she wields her sword..

“I am ready. How does this work Clarke”?

It’s wrong. Clarke can sense that now. Everything from theway Lexa’s grasping the metal like it might bite her, to foreign it appears in her grasp.
