Day 16 of @missdahlelama's #authorlifemonth photo challenge asks us for our #biggestfan. Guys, Gals, and Nonbinary Pals: meet my Mom. Mom is my proofreader, typo-killer, and cheerleader. But for me one of the most the most heartfelt and touching memories of being a writer happened with her, which is why I am nominating her for Biggest Fan. November 30th, I was at my parent's and about to fail #NaNoWriMo. I was 10k behind and we'd just finished dinner. There was no way I was gonna hit that deadline. I had done #NaNo for several years and I believe this was after I'd sold my first short "(Back)" and I think we all understood for thr first time that I could mabe make a career of writing and I was gonna fail NaNo for the first time since I'd started doing it. (This was year 4 or 5 or something like that.) And mom told me she'd do the dishes so I could sit at the kitchen table and finish. I told her I wanted to but didn't think I'd make it. She told me I might as well try before I gave up. She made a pot of tea and playfully scolded me when I got up for restroom breaks, and did the dishes and told me to stop staring at the wall and just write when I got stuck. I can't imagine she really stayed in the kitchem the whole 4 hours it took, but I recall her being there every time I lookes up from the computer. And you know what? I did it. Because she believed I could. #WritersLife #writerscommunity #authoring #authorlife #AuthorsofInstagram #mother #LesFreysFemmes #writersofinstagram #mom #luckygirl #jmfrey https://www.instagram.com/p/Bt_YGZhAOmk/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=snbgk6284xsw
