listen i don’t know shit about any (most) of these fandoms which is why i still haven’t followed any of them, even though i’ve seen them around quite some (shame on me, i promise to better myself & educate myself on these things soon!) but anyone who writes with you always seems to produce such magic so ??? you’re grant and your partners all are too i envy all your talents 

Regardless, as a member of Kingsman, politics are...complicated. There’s some weird libertarian right meets pro-colonialism rhetoric around Kingsman, but they do individual good things despite that. Anyone who isn’t super into Ayn Rand’s school of thought is going to notice those aspects, but agents are expected to put their criticism aside in the name of the common good. Hamish is very able to do that because he honestly believes that he’s granted the most access to goodness via Kingsman’s connections. Kingsman makes him powerful and he can use his power for good. Obviously, it’s a problematic line of thinking, but he refuses to let himself micromanage every problematic aspect of every single thing because he knows he’ll make himself anxious and he just doesn’t have the time and energy to pursue what makes him anxious.

They’re not far apart in age by any stretch but he does have him by several months at the very least. Merlin can’t help chuckling at the other man’s statement. RETIREMENT. Now that was a concept very much not on either of their minds if he knew Harry- and he did. “Mmm, as if ye’ll actually let yerself retire.” No, they’d both be doing this job until they physically couldn’t any longer or it killed them. charlie failed the train test because his whole life, he was conditioned to respond to fear for his life with one thing: obeying and giving the other person what they want. he was terrified, scared to death and he failed..   however had he not failed this test, he would have failed the dog test. not just because cera is literally the most important living thing in his life, but also because he can not kill. not up close and personal. we see this in tgc when he    s e e m i n g l y   kills eggsy, see this in his response to blowing up his girlfriend. he is not good at killing, he doesn’t feel good doing it, he CAN NOT do it up close. he is absolutely not kingsman material. he might make a good spy in that he is a team player and can get information… but he can not, for the life of him, kill someone - especially without being threatened enough.
