thank you to everyone who voted!! I made this a while ago, and kind of regretted coloring it, esp because it made edgar look even worse than he looked originally as a sketch, but I still kinda love this piece and wanna share it

(in case anyone's wondering: omar - tecna, duncan - aisha/layla, otto - musa, jerry - stella, leon - bloom, edgar - flora)

Edgar Munsen

Edgar respects Marianne a lot because she never tries to impress him.

She's one of the few people who will tell him when he's being too intense.

He listens to her more than he listens to most people.

Sometimes they'll just sit somewhere and not talk for like 20 minutes, which for Edgar is actually very peaceful.

He trusts her to keep the group calm when things get heated.

If someone messes with Marianne, Edgar takes it very personally.

He once told someone:

"You don't mess with Holloway."

Clint (Henry)

He treats Marianne like she's one of the guys but also not.

They tease each other a lot.

He'll say stuff like:

"You're too quiet. Makes people nervous."

She'll respond:

"Good."

He trusts her judgment a lot, especially when deciding someone is worth trusting.

He's definitely helped her fix stuff at home before.

Duncan

Duncan is one of the Townies Marianne actually laughs around more.

He tells stupid stories and she pretends she's not listening but she always is.

He once tried to teach her how to pick a lock "just in case."

She learned way to fast, which made him nervous.

He calls her "professor" sometimes because she always seems like she knows what's going on.

Gurney

Gurney is loud and chaotic, and Marianne is calm and quiet, which makes their dynamic really funny.

He'll be yelling about something and she'll just say:

"You're wrong."

And he'll stop and go:

"...Explain."

He actually respects her opinions a lot.

He once said she's "scarier when she talks quietly than when Edgar yells."

Jerry

Jerry and Marianne have a very chill, quiet friendship.

They'll sit on the roof or near the lot and just talk about random stuff.

He's one of the few people who asks her actual questions about her life.

He definitely knows more about Marianne than most people do.

He once told someone:

"She notices everything. Don't like around her."

Leon

Leon jokes that Marianne is the Townies' strategist.

If they're planning anything he'll ask:

"Holloway, what's the smart way to do this?"

She doesn't talk a lot, but when she gives an opinion, everyone listens.

Leon respects people who think before they act, which is exactly what Marianne does.

Omar Romero

Omar and Marianne have a very calm mutual respect.

They talk about music sometimes.

He once let her borrow a cassette and she actually returned it, which immediately made him like her more.

He thinks she's one of the most reliable people in the group.

Otto Tyler

Otto tries to act tough around everyone, but he's actually really nice to Marianne.

He always says:

"You good Holloway?"

If she says yes, he leaves it alone.

If she says no, he immediately asks:

"Who's the problem."

Zoe Taylor

Zoe and Marianne actually get along really well.

They don't talk constantly, but there's a lot of mutual understanding.

Zoe appreciates that Marianne doesn't judge her.

Marianne appreciates that Zoe says exactly what she thinks.

Zoe has definitely dragged Marianne into conversations like:

"Tell them what you told me earlier."

And Marianne hates that.
