I want a Horatio who's calm, level-headed and logical, who Hamlet relies on to keep him from acting impulsively.
I want a Horatio who occasionally loses the ability to be that rock for Hamlet, who sounds panicked as he tries to keep him from following his father's ghost and whose voice cracks as he tries to keep him from agreeing to the duel with Laertes.
I want a Horatio who becomes a crying, screaming mess when Hamlet dies, who delivers his final lines with the voice of a man who has nothing left to live for and has to be physically dragged away from his body.
I want a Horatio who tries to be strong for Hamlet because he sees that he needs it, but who loses that ability to put up that facade once the only person who truly cared for him dies.
