speaking of defernull, i like how some art sorta highlights the mob vibes normal tv world has? zappers and shadowguys are literally just goons and pippins have the whole gambling and smuggling thing goin on for flavor. The only thing ruining the vibe is. well. tenna himself. hes not scary enough (hes not scary at all) to pull it off sorry . the game talks big about him binding ppl with contracts and whatever but the Implications of that arent really shown? ever? and while goons arent exactly loyal, 'leaving the microsecond your boss tells you to do some bullshit you dont like + not giving two shits when he threatens you' destroys whatever semblance of authority tenna couldve had.

I love what we got, but its fun seeing these other aspects explored :D

LIKE. while i do think theres some woobification going on w tenna sometimes im still like , baffled by ppl trying to portray him as this evil mastermind or whatever. im not saying hes not manipulative, he is, but its in such a inane way that everyone else is just like come on man. look at the shit toby himself says abt him . its ok to recognize authorial intent

good manipulation needs a certain amount of self awareness and a proper understanding of other people. things he is severely Lacking in as shown by all the times he utterly fails to read the room and also the fact hes so deep in denial hes digged a hole to the mantle inner core of the earth

i think he is Loud and Emotive and wears his heart on his sleeve. this is not necessarily on purpose, but being volatile has worked for him so far so hes got no reason to stop. like your grandma
