❝ i think the real ‘monsters’ are the ones who create the monstrous things. ❞ / from safi.
"Is that what you think?"
Theres something to her tone that would indicate on some level she was amused by that statement.
"The real monsters are the one's who destroy lives just because they can. The ones that will take and take, and never give. The ones that feel entitled to everything just because they want it and have no regard for the thoughts or feelings of others. The real monsters, are the ones who will never be sorry for the things they've done. A monster can't feel remorse. A monster destroys everything they touch, and the worst part is they revel in it."
Katherine stared the girl down, watching her closely. There was something about her that was intriguing. More to her than she was putting on the surface- Katherine wanted to know what was hiding under those still waters.
"Is there a monster in your life you're trying to make excuses for?"
Is it you?

welcome to the rec room / @eldestbrcther
i love the way @rachelambre took a character that was dead before the game(s) began and decided, no, you know what, this character deserves a second chance at life. and then breathed life into her and continues to do so day after day.
rachel is such a complex, beautiful, fully realized character. i love reading about all the shenanigans she gets up to. i love reading about her in all the different verses. i love all the dynamics between rachel and my muses.
ditto for @leiasversion because all of the muses on that blog just fit to a t and i love everything we've written together so far.
“ what? no witty remark? nothing clever to say? ” / from safi.
"I recognize a girl at the end of her rope. Not every rock bottom needs a kick to the gut for good measure."
If anyone understands what its like to watch the one you love give everything to the least deserving person for it- it's Katherine.
"So how about a drink instead?"
“You have a lot of experience with this.” / from jj.
"You know my dad is a factory worker. My mom got sick once when I was little, and couldnt watch me and my sister. My dad was too cheap to pay a babysitter so he just brought us to work with him. It was wildly dangerous and irresponsible but well... it was my dad. So what does anyone expect realistically. I learned a lot from it though. He taught me how some of the machines worked. Let me watch him take them apart to clean them and put them back together. That's kind of where I learned to work on the boat engines. Im no expert but I can get by." She shrugged.

wanna bang? i mean hang. i mean… both. / from jj.
"I thought Pogues didn't mac on pogues." Katherine smirked.
"However, seeing as how neither one of us has ever cared about rules...."
"I've got nothing else better to do."
❝ the thing about being broken, is it’s already done. you know you can get through anything after that. ❞ / from chloe.
The way Chloe meant it and the way Katherine took it were wildly two different things. That was made noticeable by the way Katherine's jaw clenched.
"Funny you say that. Like it's right out of a self help book. Something inspirational when all you've dealt with is surface level pain. The reality of it is there are levels to being broken. I agree some of them you can put yourself back together again and use that fancy glue that would hold during a hurricane and come out just fine. If that's been your experience then good for fucking you." She states, with just an air of aggression behind that 'positivity'.
"My experience with being broken? Not the same. No my experience is finding out just how little your pieces can break into. Every time I think I'm done someone finds a new fancy way to shatter me just a little more than I was before. And let me be so very clear about one thing. I did not get through it. Any of it. I lost a lot of myself along the way and what you see before you is a completely different person than what I started out as. I don't even remember her. Surviving and living are two very different things."
Quiet on set! / from Safiya.
HER EYES SPOKE TOO MUCH MIND : ̗̀➛ SEASON 1, EPISODE 7: MY WILD HEART BLEEDS WITH YOURS / @leiasversion (Safi)
"If your dear heart is wounded, my wild heart bleeds with yours." - Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu, Carmilla
The fact that there was a second raid at the Fairmont's - and that not everyone made it out alive - is running like wildfire at this point: anyone who's anyone in the preternatural community knows about it.
Safi hears about it too. Though it's always kept in the middle whether or not Safi was actually there that night, albeit shapeshifted into a different person, and whenever Safi is asked about it, the answer is non-committal, so it keeps the viewers guessing and the show trending for yet another week.
In any case, Safi's on a journey of some sorts to find other people that have powers too, other than Max and Diamond. That journey leads Safi from Caledon University and Lakeport all the way to several different diners: one in Willoughby, one in Oakley, and one in McKinley.
Charlotte Zima, waitress, owner and vampire - is actually the one to point out, whilst pouring Safi a cup of coffee, that all the places that have been circled on the map - Savannah, Harmony, and Mystic Falls - are places that have a lot of magical energy to them. Charlotte takes initiative and circles New Orleans on the map as well, quietly muttering something about a past lover who made her count all the bricks of all the buildings way back when.
It is then that the viewer finds out that, much like in Double Exposure, there is a dual timeline situation going on. Albeit in Safi's head. In one, Safi tracks down Floribeth and co. In another, Safi joins forces with Maya Hearth-Woman and her new cohorts.
"Where are you going next?" Charlotte asks.
Safi merely looks at Charlotte, then looks directly at the camera and winks. The answer remains, as always, up in the air. There's a chime of the bell and the slam of a door and then the credits roll.
Post credit scene #1:
Floribeth gets (yet another) text from Bartholomew Fell Jr. Much like Ethan did, once upon a time, Bartholomew, too, is still angling for a yes. A yes to what? A yes to getting turned into a vampire.
He wants to be changed; he wants that metamorphosis. He wants that power, in order to protect his loved ones.
Floribeth, though, says no. Even though she understands. As she has done before. Again, and again, until he gets it through his head. Bartholomew doesn't need the metamorphosis; he just needs to take one long look into the mirror and figure out the reason why he wants and needs to be the protector of his family so badly and why he doesn't feel safe unless and until he gets that power.
Post credit scene #2:
Footsteps. Soft, gentle, but with purpose. The camera pans up to the Mystic Tap, right when someone opens the door and steps inside. The viewers keep hearing the footsteps. It's only revealed that AISLING LYNCH just sat down in a booth when someone comments in passing about the scent of nivea; clean, cozy, comforting.
Finch Tarrayo asks Aisling if she'd like to eat or drink something. The two chat, Aisling orders, and then a voice memo from Floribeth to Aisling lights up her phone. Finch sees it and comments that she wasn't aware that Aisling knew Floribeth.
Aisling smiles a warm smile at Finch and merely tells her that she knows what it feels like when someone is in need of a home.
