Why did you as an able bodied person who can clearly stand cosplay Sullivan?

Got this ask last night and it genuinely made me angry but anyway

1) I’m literally disabled - I have diabetes and deal with chronic leg pain as a result plus several other symptoms that impact my daily life

2) Sieglinde is an ambulatory wheelchair user - she’s seen using a wheelchair, crutches, the spider-leg device and also walking without her mobility aids (for short distances) at different points in the manga

3) She’s one of my favourite characters partly because she’s disabled - when I first read the manga I enjoyed her arc so much because it featured a central disabled character and that’s why her dress was a dream project for me for 7 years

4) People can cosplay whoever they want (within reason and respectfully of course) but I really don’t think a disabled person cosplaying another disabled person - even if we have different disabilities - is a problem

#ALSO: yeah ok my disability is a chronic condition rather than a physical one but part of Sieglinde’s disability is that she can’t walk -#- long distances without discomfort YEAH ME TOO BITCH #just a very weird ask all round!!#asks #tw ableism #actually disabled #sieglinde sullivan #leg rambles
