LEFT HANDED My sister once attended a private lesson. One day, I visited her school. When I met her teacher, she said to me: "Thelma-your sister, is a good student, she learns fast, my only challenge with her is that she is left handed; would you talk to her for me please? "ofcourse I will" I said to her, As I left her premises suppressing a smile. She was complaining to me about my sister's left handedness, she had no idea she was talking to: left hander-in-chief. Obviously, she saw my sister's left handedness as a barrier to the teaching & learning process. I ccan't recount how many times I was treated awfully as a child, simply because I was born left handed instead of right handed like everyone else. Starting from my family, I can recall family members who tried to get me to stop using the left hand. Most recently, I've been told several times in my local Church that it is disrespectful to use the left hand during communion services. I've learnt to live with it, besides not everyone is on a crusade against left handers, I have also meet people who absolutely adore the left hand with reasons ranging from superstitious to personal believes & preferences. Today, on this occasion of International Left Handers Day 2017, I recognise that in some countries, left handers and right handers are treated equally without any form of discrimination and I also recognise that in some other countries, left handers are discriminated against on the basis of superstition and allied believes. And I want to use this occasion of the international left handers day 2017, to speak up against any form of discrimination against left handers worldwide, as a left hander myself and as a human rights and peace advocate. As a left hand user I personally do not think there is something so mother fucking special about usuing the left hand more so then the right hand ( e.g writing). Bitches. their just hands. Not fucking special at all. So why the fuck are people acting like parents finding out their son is gay and being all "OH MA GAWDDD. SERIUZZZ?" Okaii, thats more of like a nice, dumb twin sister.
