These photos are all a couple of years old... but I’m really missing my reenactment days, so I thought I would share some of my favourite photos of myself from Historia Normannis’ Invasion of Whittington Castle in 2013.

As you can see, I am very good at picking foes whose shields are as tall as I am. Our fights aren’t choreographed, so this didn’t always end so well with me... Mind you, I did win a few of them, and that one in the middle with me and the guy with the cross on his chest was a series of fights the three of us thrashed the other team in...

And just to be fair, showing some photos of me being all badass and yell-y, on the bottom I’m the one on the left with a spear wound in the side, being ransomed off at the end of the battle my side lost because as a landed man from Scotland, I was worth something.

Nearly two AM and why am I still awake? Because two lines of a poem for Tyr sprang into my mind unbidden and I had to get them out of my head before I composed it all in my sleep and had weird dreams again.
