Just go for it.Ā This is very water is wet but one of the many issues with DCās mishandling of Barbaraās transition back to the Batgirl mantle is that for some reason they are trying really hard to erase everything she used to be. I think her first story arc from new52 was actually really good, but the moment they started with the batgirl of burnside crap she took a lot of damage as a character. they basically de-aged her to have the personality of a teenager. Combined with that costume and art style (that wouldnāt step out of that boring palette to save its life) the whole thing got real old real fast. Barbaraās importance in the dc universe was basically erased and her connections to the other heroes is all gone. Anyway her new costume is super cool and I love it so I might catch up on her run.I canāt say much about Billy cause Marvelās cheap ass will have him appearing in one issue of a random comic once a year.
Should I buyā¦ Gray Log even though I can't read Japanese ā¦ would you know if there will be an English release š© how many pages are there, etc.
My copy came through today and itās really well-made, the quality of the printing is really good. Itās around 290 pages long and has character bios, background info for the series, an interview, a collection of art, and Hoshinoās oneshot calledĀ āContinueā. Thereās a lot of nice art but thereās also a lot of written info, so I suppose itās up to you whether the price would be worth it for the art alone if you canāt read Japanese. I have no idea about an English release, but I knowĀ @krorys is scanning pages from the book and @starbudspresents have a discord server up with some rough translations!!
Personally, I mostly bought it to support Hoshino and because the art looked really nice. I have a semi-good understanding of Japanese, at least enough to roughly translate bits and pieces of the book, but it was mainly just for the art and to support Hoshino in some way. I think itās worth it but itās up to you!!
