What are the causes of LED display dead lights
The causes of LED display dead lights may be as follows:
LED component failure: Each pixel of the LED display is composed of LED components, and if one or more of the LED components are damaged or fail, it will lead to dead lights in the area. This can be caused by manufacturing defects, aging, high or low voltage.
Power problems: When the power supply of the display is faulty, the LED display may appear dead lights. If the power supply voltage is unstable or the power line is damaged, the LED component may not work properly.
Driver board failure: The driver board is responsible for controlling the work of the LED display. If the driver board is damaged or faulty, the LED display may be dead.
Data cable connection problem: The LED display is usually connected to the control system through the data cable. If the data cable is loose, damaged or poorly connected, it may lead to dead lights on the LED display. Take you 5 minutes to understand the LED display control system.
Environmental factors: The working environment of the LED display may have an impact on it. For example, prolonged heat, humidity, or dust can cause damage to LED components, resulting in dead lights.
Human damage: Improper use or operation of the LED display, such as excessive vibration, impact, or incorrect maintenance, may cause damage to the LED components and cause dead lights.
If the LED display has a dead light problem, it is recommended to contact professional technical support personnel for overhaul and repair to determine the specific cause and repair.

Osram Opto Expands LED Chips for Projector Applications
Osram Opto Semiconductors presents P2W 01, a particularly reliable addition to its familiar Osram Ostar Projection series. This new LED contains four chips which can be controlled in two separate groups. The LED therefore represents an integrated solution which in the event of emergencies offers trouble-free operation in safety-related and security-related applications such as control room monitors.
âThe redundant system of the new Osram Ostar Projection is ideal for 24/7 applications. If a chip should ever unexpectedly fail, the second system will continue to operate without any problem at allâ, said Wolfgang Schnabel, Product Marketing LED at Osram Opto Semiconductors. Up to now, only the chips in the large Osram Ostar Projection P3W could be controlled separately. This is now also possible with the P2W 01. Osram Opto Semiconductors has developed a compact LED with two self-contained parallel systems with two chips each. The connection design has also been improved, from 2-pad to 3âpad. This means there are now three connections instead of two. All four chips occupy one pad, the other two pads are each reserved for a group of two. âA new soldering process ensures that the heat produced in the application remains low. The connection between the chip and the package can therefore withstand a lotâ, added Schnabel.
Compact solution with vivid images
The high-current chips in the new Osram Ostar Projection are based on the most advanced thin-film and UX:3 chip technologies. They produce high luminance, resulting in extremely bright and vivid images in the relevant applications. The new LED therefore enables lighting solutions to be more compact than before because a smaller active surface is needed to achieve the same light output. Customers who are currently using the P2W can easily upgrade their design to the new Osram Ostar Projection because the size and the optical and technical data correspond to those of the P2W version. Connectors and other accessories are widely available on the market.
The new LED will be used in particular as a light source for back projection systems. This involves projecting the image onto a screen with the aid of reflective optics. Often such systems are designed without borders. Multiple systems are arranged seamlessly next to each other, creating a large borderless screen on which one image can be shown or a different image can be shown on each screen. These systems are used predominantly in the security sector where 24-hour operation is needed, for example in control rooms for subway stations, railroad stations and underground car parks, and also for major events and industrial plant control.
You can find more information on the Osram Ostar Projection series on the internet.

UNIQUE Project for Developing Mass Market UV LEDs for Disinfection
Eco-friendly purification of water â UV light is already being used to kill water-borne germs but the light sources used for this purpose are still predominantly mercury vapor lamps. UV LEDs have so far proved unattractive for reasons of cost. The aim of the UNIQUE project funded by the Bavarian Ministry for Economic Affairs, Media, Energy and Technology is therefore to develop high-power UV LEDs for industrial use. The project, which is being coordinated by Osram Opto Semiconductors, involves five Bavarian companies and research institutions.
In the UNIQUE project, mercury-free LED-based UVC high-power light sources with wavelengths in the 260 to 280 nanometer range are being developed for industrial disinfection processes. There is a wide variety of potential applications â from domestic water purification to industrial disinfection of food packaging. Aluminum gallium nitride light emitting diodes (AIGaN LEDs), a further development of the white, blue or green indium gallium nitride LEDs currently in use, provide the basis. Meeting this objective requires fundamental material, technology and system developments along the entire value added chain.
aprotec GmbH is responsible for the design of a special installation for producing aluminum nitride (AIN) volume crystals by evaporating AlN powder at over 2000 °C. The Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Systems and Device Technology (IISB) is in charge of developing and optimizing a process chain for producing AlN substrates, which includes everything from the synthesis of high-purity AlN powder and the production of AlN crystals to the manufacture of AlN substrates from the AlN crystals. Osram Opto Semiconductors is developing the UVC LED chip with the associated component epitaxy and processing on the basis of the AlN substrate.
UV LED chips need the protection of a gas-tight package that offers a constant vacuum and therefore a stable atmosphere for the chip. Developing a permanently vacuum-tight package from inorganic UV-stable materials and evaluating the structure and connections are the tasks of SCHOTT AG in Landshut. Finally, Dr. HĂśnle AG is responsible for integrating the UVC modules in a new disinfection system and conducting the appropriate system tests.
By developing a small, cost-effective, energy-efficient, mercury-free, long-life UV diode the project partners are looking to gain a strong position on the growing market for UV LEDs and use the results of the project to strengthen Bavaria as a location for business. âOur many years of experience in the development of mass market opto semiconductor components will help make the UNIQUE project a success and contribute to bringing the prototype to market at a later date in volume production. Osram Opto Semiconductors is already active in the near UV range. UNIQUE will extend our portfolio into the deep UV range, specifically for disinfection applicationsâ, said Dr. Hans-JĂźrgen Lugauer, head of UV development at Osram Opto Semiconductors.
The UNIQUE project is scheduled to run from July 2016 to June 2019. It is funded by the Bavarian Ministry for Economic Affairs, Media, Energy and Technology and sponsored by VDI/VDE/IT.
