#3673 - Glaucomaria carpinea - Rim Lichen
Originally described as Lichen carpineus in 1753, by Linnaeus, but AKA Lichen angulosus, and shuffled around Lecanora, Scutellaria, Variolaria, and other genera, collecting synonyms as it went, until finally transferred to Glaucomaria in 2019.
A cosmopolitan genus, usually growing on smooth bark on deciduous trees. The photobiont is an spherical green alga. At least four fungi are known to parasitise it.
