Far far away where you can’t hear me cry

I hope you sit in your cold, lonely ice palace and think of the sun you forcibly shut out

In exchange for a place that provides you no warmth, no comfort

And when you spend another night shivering in the room you built

The song of tiny frogs and the sway of the palm trees a distant memory you long for

You remember that you packed your bags, convincing yourself you were alright with the cold

You bit frozen fruit because you decided that even paradise wasn’t good enough

But the only thorns that grow are the ones you planted yourself

You’ll tell everyone you were shut out

You had no choice but to build your ice castle

The thorns that grew were impossible to pass through

And you couldn’t possibly begin to cut them

But I know the truth

You made your uncomfortable, bone-chilling bed

Now lie in it

“I hope it’s cold”
