“Oh good.” This was going to be stupid. Not just his usual stupid either, a whole new level of ‘Lea you are an idiot!’ sort of yelling from Isa that would have gone down in history. Not that they had much choice. Recon first, this was getting weird. But if he could figure out if this lady was a resident of a sleeping world or if they were both stuck or… Okay pull back, crazy sleeping world business was just going to make his head hurt. Focus, battle, dream eaters, and nice person with a dagger. Though he was thankful she willingly offered her hand. It brought and unexpected smile to his features. He tossed his chakram into the fray, letting them explode into a fiery burst. Snagging the girl’s hand and tugging her into his arms.“Here goes nothing!” Without too much further thought, Lea jumped. Pulling them both off the edge of the clocktower. Breathing deep as he closed his eyes. Free fall causing the wind to silence most anything else. Good thing, he needed the chance to concentrate. Jumping through fire was hard enough, doing it with someone else was lots harder. With a hard tug on his magic more flames curled around them, hiding everything from view in a flash of brilliant reds, oranges, yellows, and white. Oddly enough slowing their fall. Just before pulling back like a curtain to leave the duo tumbling out in the middle of a forest. Far away from the clock tower. Lea twisting to take the brunt of the fall.“… Note to self… don’t do that again.” He groaned, finally relaxing his grip. “You alright?” At least they weren’t in battle anymore.
Katherine had just enough time to turn her head and see his weapons fly before they disappeared in an explosion of flames. Yes, North would definitely have liked the young man’s fighting style, that was certain! His smile gave her confidence, which was much needed when she suddenly found herself huddled against his chest and falling off of the ledge in an orb of fire. The sensation brought back so many memories that Katherine hardly noticed how intensely her new friend was concentrating. Memories of falling, waiting to be caught in North’s djinni’s mechanical arms, wishing she could have stayed in the clouds for a moment longer. Memories of screaming, waiting for the ground to collide with herself only to be saved by Nightlight’s gentle hand. Memories of plummeting in darkness and horror but saved and swept into the air by the kiss of her friend. Hot flashes of color danced all around her and Katherine suddenly opened her eyes, bringing her very much back into the present. How strange it was to see flames all around her and yet not get burned! It was actually kind of enjoyable and was not something Katherine had ever dreamed she would experience. Delighted, she was almost sorry that their fall was coming to an end. Her joy was short lived, however, as the two hit the ground. Her quick-thinking rescuer skidded on the forest floor and Katherine winced, even though he was the one sustaining the injuries. “I’m fine, but are YOU all right?” she asked, pushing up to sit back on her knees in front of him. “That was a hard fall!” she reached out and lightly brushed the dirt off of his shoulder that had hit the ground first. “Although whatever kind of fire spell you have made it a lot better than the belly-flop jump I thought we were going to do,” she said with a sheepish grin.
