Several yeàrs ago, when i was still running Mystic Banana as a hostel, one of my guest's grand-father past away during her stay here. A few days earllier, i had bought a babý papaya tree in town. We decided to plant the tree in memory of her grand-father. For a long time I wanted to grow my own food but I sucked at it. I really didn't have a green thumb and everything I touched died, so did the baby papaya. I didn know how to take care of plants so i learned and studied the subject. A few months ago I bought a papaya to eat, not a tree. When I opened it, she was loaded with seeds inside. Before when this happened, I would dry the seeds and not do anything with them but this time i wanted to try and see if I could grow my own papaya trees. So I planted them. I watered them religiously mornings and evenings for 2 weeks. Nothing happened. Aries are famous for their patience and expect things to happen like yesterday. So I gave up and moved on to other things, thinking the seeds had died like so many before them. I didn't check back on them for several weeks. When I finally did.... many had sprouted into baby papaya trees !!! Two weeks ago was the New Moon, a good time for planting. I transplanted one of the trees in the exact same location we had planted the tree in memory of my guest's grand-father years ago. I made sure to water it every 2 days plus the rain has helped me a lot every time I feel lazy. Today I took a picture and we can see 2 new green leaves have grown since. The transplant took This is a really big deal for me and very exciting. #learntogrow #learntogrowfood #exoticfruits #thisiscolombia #thesimplelife (at Mystic Banana Colombia) https://www.instagram.com/p/B_5cn-gpafh/?igshid=15tiew291nrg4
