Consider assigned "jobs" or "roles" that rotate among students. Consider how our middle school students could take on the leadership within classes to build relationships and build a positive classroom culture. Give students the opportunity to own part of the learning environment throughout the year. Ask for their feedback on what is working and not working! Do you already have students pass out books, papers and resources? Make it official - assign them a job!
