“Just because I’m sick doesn’t mean you treat me like I’m some child that needs a story read to them to go to sleep, Leanne.” Ernie sighed, shaking his head in disappointment but realized it was only making his head hurt more. There was apparently some problem with a potion produced and Ernie was the victim when a student spilled their experiment all over him. No deadly effects were the result, but he was going to be sick for at least a week.

“And the farmer realized that magic wasn’t going to work, and was going to have to-”“Have to rely on his own wit. Leanne I’ve read every book in the library, this isn’t going to work.” He did appreciate the fact that he was trying, but he didn’t need companionship, he just wanted to rest. She wasn’t having it because she kept reading with the biggest smile on her face.

There was a small pause, and she looked at Ernie with that smile on her face. “Being sick doesn’t mean not being around your friends Ernest.” That’s when she kept reading, ignoring his pleads for the story to be over no matter if he heard it before.

Dear Leanne, 

I feel lonely, Le. There’s nothing to do here better than look at the window and seeing people come and go all day long. Of course I get time to read and write but I wish I could go outside, go to you.

Do you remember that time when we finished practice and stayed in the benches and we talks and laughed until the sun went down? I think of that when I feel lonely. It comforts, knowing that there was a time when life was easier and the only worry we had was who was going to invite us to the ball, or how well we did in our classes or who would win the Quidditch Cup this year. My mind goes back to those simple days and how you made them extraordinary with your laugh and your jokes. 

I hope you are alright, I pray everyday that you and Anthony and everyone is alright. I’m not sure if you decided to stay or you left when things got dark but I just hope you had found the strenght within you to get by. You have always been the strong one, always lifting me up when things get bad. I wished you were here, Le. You would help me get by. But, that’s a privilege I can’t have, that’s a luxury I can’t take. Because this letter would never get to you and you’d be better off without it.
